A writer has been pegged for the upcoming Magic: The Gathering movie. Check it out here.
One simple question:
since this is a guy who was involved with Game of Thrones, how much assurance is that for the movie not sucking?
Well... The guy who directed Thor: Dark World had Game of Thrones on his resume, and not much else, so there's potential to do well.
I'd really want to know which 5 episodes he wrote though.

Depends on how much freedom he's given. I've heard that Marvel kept the guy who did Thor: The Dark World on a tight leash, and it really showed in the film. Simon Kinberg is also attached, and he's got X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past on his resume.

The most recent was the episode with Tyrion's trial (which I haven't seen yet because I got mad at Time Warner and cancelled my cable, but reviews were positive).

Well, I severely dislike The Game Of Thrones, but since Bryan's forced to remain faithful to the detestful source material it's so far a hopeful situation.
