In Kamigawa there was a character called Myojin of Night's Reach who was actually a planeswalker. She was indirectly involved in an earlier defeat of Nicol Bolas. In Time Spiral she got beat up by Bolas and her current status is unknown.
Now in Theros we have Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. I don't think we know anything him or his motivations but consider the following:
-The Myojin were essentially gods although rather than enchantments they were spirits and rather than living in Nyx they lived in Kakuriyo, the spirit realm.
-Ashiok's ultimate exiles each opponents' hand while Night's Reach discards each opponents' hand.
-Ashiok and Night's Reach have a similar looking hand motif.
-Ashiok is an Asian/Indian name.
-Xenagos, the Reveler is a planeswalker who becomes a god which is similar to Night's Reach who is a planeswalker and a god.
-Ajani is going to show up and his primary concern is Nicol Bolas. Elspeth is already on Theros and she's no fan of Bolas either.
Anyways I'm thinking Night's Reach might be lurking in the shadows looking for a means to kill Bolas again. Ashiok might be her avatar or even her descendant.
Also not specifically related to Ashiok but I have an idea how Bolas is going to go down. In Kamigawa, Night's Reach drops off Toshiro Umezawa on Dominaria who creates the bloodline that eventually gives birth to Tetsuo Umezawa who goes on to kill Bolas. Tetsuo's immunity to Bolas' mind affecting powers (which was represented on his card with aura shroud!) was the key to this victory.
Before Toshiro Umezawa was sent to Dominaria he had sex with Kiku, Night's Flower. Night's Reach says she took Kiku somewhere safe and that's the last we hear from her. The point being that there is probably an Umezawa heir somewhere in the multiverse and no one but Night's Reach knows about him/her since Kiku would be unlikely to give her child the Umezawa name or ever talk about Toshiro since she hates him and only had sex with him because she was drunk. I'm expecting some random Japanese dude to pop up out of nowhere or for it to be revealed that an already known character is actually a long lost Umezawa descedant. Knowing Wizards it'll probably be Jace. People who like Jace would like him even more if they knew he was 0.001% Japanese.
