Ok, I have seen this mention in many places online with the onslaught of the new slivers being revealed. People talking about a "Sliver Queen" style of PW. Now my question is, by planeswalker spark rules, is this possible? Or would it have to be like a "tibalt" style background where through one means or another (probably experimentation) the PW would be fused with the hive mind? I figured I would just plain out ask as slivers were never my strong point...in fact, though this is blaspheme I know, I never had an interest in them until seeing the new ones....I kinda like the new designs....
I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Slivers become less...Sliver-ly and more human, and eventually assimilate the information necessary to Planeswalk with.
We might not get a walker out of it, but possibly they'll just become this nomadic race that walks to other planes, just to find out what's out there.
Would a sliver planeswalker make all the slivers planeswalkers? Or would a sliver planeswalker suddenly no longer be intellient enough to planeswalk once doing so away from the hive mind?

Card advantage is not the same thing as card draw. Something for 2B cannot be strictly worse than something for BBB or 3BB. If you're taking out Swords to Plowshares for Plummet, you're a fool. Stop doing these things!

well as stated before,it have to be a sapient sliver, so at least like the queen/overlord if not even more evolved beyond. Plus we are seeing slivers adapt the ability to discern, which means individual thought can come into play at the higher levels of the evolutions.
I guess my question shouldn't of said a sliver PW, more like a Sliver Queen PW or a Sliver Lord PW, or even a Sliversmith PW
This Sliver PW idea is pretty cool IMO, imagine that Sliver PW travels across the Multiverse, learning new abilities to be shared with other Slivers.
Imagine if the Sliver PW goes to Zendikar, learned Annihilator and share that ability to other Slivers ...
Maybe someday Slivers will become a threat to the Multiverse.

You know what? Because everything that we ever knew about slivers has been rustled out of bed, wrapped in a few sheets, weighed down with rocks, and thrown into the river Charles at 3am, I'm going to say yes. A sliver planeswalker is totally a possibility.

[I was permabanned and all I got to show for it was .... well, nothing.]
I'm going to say that, barring Creative shenanigans (see: Tibalt), a sliver 'walker is out. I doubt we're going to wind up with a Kerrigan-like fusing of a 'walker to the hivemind.
And as I said elsewhere with regards to the M14 slivers:
These...abominations...are not slivers, despite what their typeline claims.

As I said, I basically asked due to the fact that I wasn't sure the level of sapience or sentience that the queen/overlord had. And I just wanted to know the validity of it. I hated slivers so much when they first came that I just kinda ignored them.
But that isn't saying (and I know this is horrible) that I wouldn't love to see a fused PW Queen Done a'la the queen insect/human thing from the Gears of War series.
But on that note, I am in the boat of people who actually like the new slivers, and might make a deck of them....but I do understand that sliver queen pw probably will never happen.
EDIT: As to my statement and as far as my avatar now, I am that much in love with the new ones that I am now cursing myself out for selling my sliver legion last week.

No, it wouldn't.
The spark isn't a physical trait that can be shared.

1. It was a joke.
2. I don't blame you for blocking out the Mirrodin storyline.

Was it shared or was it transfered from one to another? IIRC, it was the latter - which still means slivers can't share the spark between themselves (aka. there can be only one (planeswalker from a single spark))...
In Mirrodin, transferred. Memnarch used the entire planet as a giant spark transfer machine to steal Glissa's spark. (It wound up in Slobad instead, but that's another story.)
...the less said about Scars' magical heart transplant, the better.

pretty much this. slivers are not the creatures we once knew of, so they can just about do what they like with slivers.

Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.
You cannot planeswalk without a spark. It's the only thing that allows you to survive exposure to the Blind Eternities (outside of a magical ship created by an arguably mad oldwalker). Planeshifting is possible (see Cosmic Larva, arguably Myojin of Night's Reach although that was more taking advantage of the rifts), but being a true planeswalker requires a spark.
Oh mother of God.
I was thinking that sentience was the capacity to respond to stimuli and sapience was the capacity to have subjective thoughts, but I can't find a single damn consistent definition for either word online.
The definitions don't matter, to be a Planeswalker, you have to be able to emote.

Individual slivers generally are not born sapient (With at one exception).
I don't think a sliver planeswalker could occur normally. I think extenuating circumstances could make one (See: Karn).
Thanks to Rivenor of Miraculous Recovery Signatures!
That is what I was curious about, was if the queen/overlord were sapient. I wasn't quite sure how that worked with slivers.

Will be kept until 12/31/2013 to prove if Right or Wrong.Proven right 1/27/2013One implies the other.
Not necessarily, naturally occuring; just that they have to be born
Where is that said?
The Sliver Queen was sapient, Karn was able to reason with her.
Sliver Legion is implied to be self-aware.

Sentient is aware. Sapient is smart. They are similar, not the same.
Faeries from lorwyn are born, but not naturally occuring (Oona creates them). Then again, Faeries are tied to Oona, who is Lorwyn's Worldsoul.
It's been pretty implied, though not officially stated. Karn is the exception to the rule like in every walker situation.
I actually believe the whole "hive mind" mentality stops sparks from being developed. Just personally makes little sense.

Doesn't change the fact that one implies the other. Really hard to have any subjective thoughts and opinions without being aware.
She's not actually. She basically usurped the position, but she never assumed the mantle. It's a very nebulous distinction, I know.
