katilda pops out of the key frees Sigarda and sorin realizing he never needed to make avacyn and Sigarda was all that he needed to protect the humans so the vampires don't starve
I’m starting to speculate sorin made avacyn before the great mending Aka while he had a god spark
Today’s story was the first of the latest Innistrad stories (so far) to not have pacing issues.
The story was good though it didn’t seem to explain why Chandra ‘dressed to kill’ in a formal gown.
If she (as a +1 or small cadre) accompanied Sorin at the festivities in the barely hidden guise of ‘witnessing’ the occasion, then I could be convinced of the change in appearance.
But that’s not what happened, nor has it been explained why or how she got the dress.
If anything, she’s about to lead a bunch of human allies and soldiers into battle.
I mean, who does that IN HEELS??
That and the flavor text with Arlinn being the one to object to the wedding. Having the flavor not match the story is a weird way to avoid spoilers from having the set come out before the story.

We... know that he did?
Sorin made Avacyn around a thousand years ago, the mending was something like 60-70 years ago.
I can't get behind Olivia as a villain. This portrayal just doesn't work for me.
She's supposed to be this powerful, cunning, ancient vampire poised to take over the world, but somehow she's not at all scary. She doesn't feel intimidating. She comes across as grating and obnoxious, and she has no menace to speak of. I know she's always been portrayed as eccentric and a bit flamboyant, but now she just feels like an evil Willy Wonka, quipping, dropping puns, pouting, trolling, and taking nothing seriously. Her dialogue is constantly silly:
"Boring!"
"I see we've already had some murders. What fun! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to have blood sacrifices at my wedding!"
"Now, I'm sure you're all honored to be here, and dying to get to the main event."
"You're in my care now, and together, we'll rule Innistrad. I promise I'll always consider your opinions for at least a moment before rejecting them, Edgar."
"I knew you were gauche, but this! We'll need to construct a whole new word for how gauche this is."
I'd hoped for a frightening, more formidable presence in Olivia, not this flanderized cartoon. Shadows Over Innistrad / Eldritch Moon at least seemed to give her more balance.
While the hollowness and decadence of Innistrad's vampires is very well portrayed in these stories (and perhaps more effectively than ever before), and the details of Olivia's actual plot feel appropriately sinister as we learn what her endgame is, her characterization spoils the mood like curdled milk poured in a glass of wine.
In the meantime, I agree with the sentiment that this chapter was well-paced. Interesting how this feels like the penultimate chapter with Olivia's plans already falling apart, but there's still two more chapters left to go. Lots of room still for twists and surprises. I am really liking Sorin in these stories as we further flesh out his complicated relationship with his family, his past, and his species.
As for Edgar, my guess is that he's actually one-up on Olivia. He's the progenitor of the entire vampire race - I doubt he's as duped as we're being led to believe.

So Olivias true plot was to marry Edgar, get an artifact of moon silver and use both in a ritual with Sigarda to take control of the angels of Innistrad. I did get worried (even knowing Sigarda was gonna be ok) since I had forgotten the original vampires had been born from drinking the blood of an angel.
We also learn (I believe) that Sorin was unwillingly turned into a vampire.
I delight that in the end Olivia is getting Comeuppance for Midnight Hunt. She could have gotten something else but by insisting on taking the key and bringing eternal night it let Katlindas ghost right and free Sigarda, with Sorin giving them the moment they needed by attacking Olivia. Nice way to have all three forces who hate Olivia have a hand in taking her down.

It just bugs me so much that the flavor on the actual cards is lying about the story they are claiming to tell. The cards are all >90% of players will ever learn about the story. I know it's silly because I really liked the story they've told for once it's just that most people won't realize what's actually going on with Sorin because he barely features in the flavor text.
Edit: Unless something changes this is decidely not what happens. Saying Arlinn interrupted proceedings on a card when it was the combo of Sorin and Sigarda is just so weird.

It was already confirmed in the Shadows over Innistrad lore that Sorin created Avacyn pre-mending. Sorin no longer has the power to make another Avacyn, because the mending had greatly reduced his powers.

This concept of Sorin wounding Sigarda in one story and then realizing she’s exactly what humans always needed in the very next is awkward. Then again, we’re talking about the moron that gave up on his own critical creation knowing she could not be replicated, plunging his home world into irreparable peril for minimal benefit to enact a petty vendetta.

I actually really like that part of it. Let main characters make things worse! Especially when they're in line with the characters flaws (Sorin is irritable, selfish, petty, and usually unwilling to listen to other perspectives)! Payoffs are only satisfying when they're earned and Sorin learning the error of his ways is pretty much the best payoff in terms of plotting we've had in an MTG story in a looooong time.
I honestly think that the way Sorin has been written this visit to Innistraad might be the best magic plot I've ever read. It's not saying a ton but they used what we knew about him, set up stakes based in his history, and played with what we like and dislike about him as a character. It's great stuff from a plotting perspective even if the writing is uneven at times!
Sorin also tried to fix Avacyn but she refused and wouldn't stop fighting to let him, which was all part of Nahiri plan; make Avacyn go mad and force Sorin to unmake Avacyn and unleash Emrakul or to let her rampage across Innistrad killing everyone. Sorin was literally set up to lose no matter what he did.

Indeed, I enjoy we are seeing both protagonists of this story (Sorin and Arian) dealing with the big bad bride and groom and it does look bleak for both. We know they win but this was pretty powerful to leave them both almost dying.

A different type of Ghostbusting. I hope Arlinn lives because she's been used well this story but it wouldn't shock me if she didn't survive the human victory. I could easily see r&d not wanting to have to continuously design flip walkers.

She can't transform off Innistrad, they added that in so she could appear on other planes and not need to have to be a transform card.

Yup! Though maybe it wouldn’t have been as bad since there’d be no insanity-causing cosmic horrors.
Like a planar Dark Barony with angels to enforce the vampires will, and killing as they did.

Regarding Katilda, I loved the exchange:
"Who invited YOU here?"
"You did."

Wow!
we know they beat Olivia and Edgar but this is grim
Edgar got sorin to drink some blood
And Despite sure strike picture and flavor text Olivia actually bested her arlinn might be dead.
but reminder.
katilda's rising dawn and Glorious Sunrise shows they win.
