We got sneak peaks (and leaks) so might as well put this up. Supposrlty the stories will connect so I figure one thread would work for both as this feels like a block (much like Ravnica 3 + War of the Spark felt).
The planeswalker characters are:, Teferi WU Arlinn Kord GR and Wrenn G as well as Kaya (not carded) Chandra (not carded) and Sorin (not carded*)
-Innistrad has been growing slowly darker with the death of Avacyn, nights are longer, days are shorter and colder than normal. The eldrazi influence is has mostly gone away by this time.
-A harvest festive is coming in which the witches and warlocks of Innistrad think will help with the growing darkness.
-Werewolves have grown more out of control.
-Wrenn is on plane and with a new tree folk "mech" seven.
Crimson Vow;
The planeswalker characters are: Sorin
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
It seems Innistrad, Midnight Hunt at least, this time will play up the elements of folk horror (Midsommer, Wickerman, VVitch, Childern of the Corn) it had. Wrenn might be seen/worshipped as goddess due as she dose look like the kind of being you'd in see in folk horror.
I notice stars? in the sky of a few art pieces which don't seem to line up with anything else we have seen on the plane.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
There's quite a lot of speculation that the wedding will have Olivia Voldaren as the bride and Sorin Markov as the groom; the box art supports Olivia more than Sorin, IMO. What's the chance that Olivia will marry someone else instead? (I guess Runo Stromkirk could be the priest...or maybe even the groom.)
well mentioned no eldrazi this time zendikar rising had some references of them but can we speculate about emrakul if there's no references at all on innistrad
my tinfoil hat is emrakul may use the moons silver to time travel to prevent ulamog and kozilek's death and probably bring them inside the moon with her (silver survives the best for time travel when you look into lore on karn)
My friends and I have a theory that Emrakul is the only true Eldrazi, and reforms Ulamog and Kozilek on every plane she visits. Brusella began to resemble Ulamog, and with enough time, may have become him for all we know. Or a new version of him. As the creator Eldrazi, and only undefeated one, it may make sense that only she needs to survive.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
- We have a world that has recently seen Eldrazi, a world where something bad is happening
- There is a mythical machine that can help it
- There is a key for the engine missing
. Both local and offworld planeswalkers converge here to show interest in it.
Wait a minute, where have I seen this before?
- Zendikar - Innistrad
- Lithoform Engine - Celestus
- Lithoform Core - Moonsilver key
- Nahiri, Jace - Arlinn, Teferi
The only difference is that this time, the walkers seem to collaborate. Otherwise the core story is quite similar.
I enjoyed the first story, the author has a very descriptive writing that I think is perfect for horror. She is also a huge magic fan (have a Avacyn tattoo) which is something I've been saying they need to do if they wanna keep hiring outside authors. I like a personal conflict is Arlinn being torn by her human and her werewolf sides as this time she's on the humans side while last time she was more worried about the werewolves. I'm guessing Arlinn is the one who went to the gatewatch to get helps.
Notes from the steam today:
-The weird spine/quill stuff we seen is frost partly wrapped by Emrakul influenced, along with the raining stars and the day /night cycle being wonkey.
-Warlocks/Witch are slight more of thier own a group as a subgroup of humans. The main coven we see is called the Dawn Heart coven and Sigarda seems to be working with them to help humanity.
-New howl packs are forming and they don't like the festive happening in their woods. We already saw they will end up crashing the ritual and likely won't end well for the humans.
-The festive is a week long and at the end they hope to use a ritual with the ruins in the middle of the woods to restore the day/night cycle and finally letting humans not being the victim of the monsters
-New kind of werewolves dropped; Dire Werewolves which are much bigger and faster then default werewolves. Often dire ww in human forms will wear over sized clothing and stuff that fits them better in wolf form.
Edgar's dead, perished during the Markov manor destruction. At least that's the consensus.
Actually creative just left that his body wasn't found at Markov Manor leaving it open to if he lived or died.

Yeeeeah ... I think I'm fine with the cliff notes and fast-forwarding through the story articles for this one.
Idk, it seems like the story doesn't have high enough readership to sell novels at a profit, so I wish they would just take the opportunity and experiment a bit. Go crazy, try something completely different. They could still have some generic conflict going on in the background to put on the cards. The typical McGuffin hunt or "defeat the evil guy!" plot has been done to death, and it's especially noticeable when those repeat every few months.
What a good "twist" with Wrenn, funny how the fandom made her into something of a villain and turns out she's seems pretty benevolent and they do touch on her red aspect as she somehow has trapped a wild fire within herself. Shame it seems she just here for the one story as now I want her to become friends with Tamiyo and Ajani.

The story really didn't need the Celestus. Embracing pre-Avacynian traditions/magic with Sigarda leading the rituals was sufficient IMO.
I love the theme and vibe of this set as an organic Halloween/nature horror world lead by Sigarda embracing more occult forms of power that are traditional for a world like Innistrad. Can't believe I'm saying this but I feel like this is the best Innistrad has ever been, close to the roots of the theme. The frost, pumpkin patches, coven of witches, candlelit nature rituals, I'm really feeling it.
I've been frustrated with the writing quality of Magic fiction of late. The Strixhaven story in particular was a clumsy, painful read, riddled with such drab prose and awful dialogue that it turned me off from the entire setting, and I began wondering what was the point of caring about Magic's story anymore if Wotc was just going to let high-school level writers turn in slipshod work. Craft matters. Delivery matters. Emotion matters. Good writing can elevate even a mediocre story concept (Guidpact, Dissension); poor writing can ruin even a great one (War of the Spark).
But this, at least, is a step in the right direction. It's not Elliot (whom I still consider Magic's best writer over the past four years) or even Wexler, but this first chapter was evocative enough and I enjoyed it. My eyes widened in an "Oh s***" reaction when the tables turned on Klaus. Arlinn and Agatha's interaction was genuinely poignant and prickled me with notes of real dread. I can feel the cold growing, the darkness encroaching, and the weight of the stakes for Innistrad.
Could also be a Dominaria situation in being a card representing an historical character but that means nothing in terms of the current storyline.
Was there a single anachronistic legendary creature in the set 'Dominaria' though? As far as I can tell, all legendary creatures were alive during the events of the set. The only cards that are anachronistic were the sagas (that's their whole point) and the legendary sorceries (which I think is fine). Not even Kamigawa block did this as far as I know?

Kwende, Pride of Femeref was alive when Teferi and his wife where first meeting, but I think every other legend was current.

sheoldred resurrected her if she was infact killed perhaps and liesa is who they are after in innistrad
(But really it’s most likely sorin has something to with this sigarda and him are fighting and probably involves that key/the celestus of how she came back.)

Original Gisela's ability was also worded as such. Double damage for opponents, half damage for you. I don't think that it's particularly indicative of anything greater.

so the leak Sigarda’s is fighting sorin but the question is why. (Knowing sorin I think all 4 sisters are gonna die now)

wow wrenns character is pretty awsome
also you'd think she’s a bad guy but she's extremely friendly
teferi and her bonded pretty well since she’s willing to help teferi and you know what he’s gonna help karn
oh boy let’s see if wrenn is a survivor of the phyrexian war 2 that’s coming up.

prediction when the set called "Dominaria United" its because wrenn goes to dominaria with teferi to bring back Zhalfir
Zhalfir is UNITED again with DOMINARIA again.
secondly teferi might become bant because of wrenn taught him how to use green spells.
Now this is more like it.
