I'm just glad we finally got Urza and Yawgmoth cards. (Yes, I know we had Blind Seer and the joke Urza from Unstable, but they don't count.) Still hoping we eventually get cards depicting them at full power, though.
Where did the new ninjas come from? It’s Euro-inspired but also has Veldaken, undead, and vampire
The ninjas in modern horizons aren't necessarily from the same plane. Honestly, I get heavy Innistrad Vibes from all of them, but neither Vedalkin nor Naga are on that plane so...

The vampire ninja also appeared to be monstrous, unlike the ones on Innistrad.
Sorry if this is dumb, but could the ninjas be from Kylem (battlebond plane, IIRC)?
We didn't see much of the plane, but it has Azra and, at least it seems to me, been influenced by planeswalkers (i. e. there are creatures and magic from multiple other planes).
I think not even WotC/the art directors know what planes most of the new Ninjas are from (i.e. they are from whatever plane that will be retroactively decided on). The focus was on new creature type combinations (Vedalken Ninja, Naga Ninja etc), not the settings.
Rebuild
there are 5 artifacts, I think I can identify 3 of them, the 4th I'm sure I've already seen somewhere, but the rope one I can't say what it could be.
3 I recognize
- Ring of Gix
- Bone Saw
- Paradise Plume
Anyone else can recognize the blue bauble and the rope?
EDIT:
the blue bauble is a Mox Sapphire with the vintage masters art.
So glad we got the old appearance of the Slivers (seriously, what were they thinking when they created those Predator-esque things?).
Unfortunately, they are now a normal tribe (i.e. affecting only the Slivers you control), since probably MaRo thinks people got stupider from Future Sight and can't play a Sliver mirror game.
Let's talk about Fountain of Ichor please.
That's the bloody Phyrexian liquid. Phyrexian liquid ON IXALAN.
At the end of WAR, Tezzeret claimed that, with Bolas out of the way, he's now free to act on his own accord. He was one with the Panar Bridge, and knowing him he probably has the means of recreating it: you know, the artifact capable of transporting entire armies of half-artifact zombies across dimensions. You know, half-artifact zombies SUCH AS THE PHYREXIANS. Phyrexians with whom Tezzeret has already interacted in canon, I hasten to add.
Yes.
It was already stated by Wizards that it was simply oil: they tried to make a joke about dinosaur fossils becoming oil, but they seem to have failed.

Am I reading too much into this?
As far as I am aware, modern phyrexians (and possibly old phyrexians) are not zombies (or at least not all of them are).
Of course, the portal can be used in its current state to transport glistening oil or be perfected to allow certain life to survive its use.
Honestly, why they thought the word ichor wouldn't make people come to the wrong conclusions is beyond me.
Just like calling Ugin "the Ineffable" means he has a connection to Yawgmoth, no? ;P
Not the same thing. Before this card, every single instance of the word Ichor in this franchise had always been used in context related to the Phyrexians. This is literally the very first time in the history of MTG that word has been used to refer to something other than the Phyrxians: as such, I dare say mine was a reasonable guess, given that I didn't know about the stuff said on Twitter at the time.

Then again, most are probably from new planes. The Moonblade Shinobi looks like it could be from Kamigawa though as a reference to Meloku.

Don't know if it was already discussed.

Then shame on them for using the word Ichor of all words <.<
