Kiora gets all her beliefs turned inside out, gets all her tragic flaws exposed and royally trounced in a Greek tragedy fashion, only to emerge just as arrogant as before, with confidence in all the things that failed her, including herself.
You mean when she realized she almost ****ed up the kill eldrazi plan and last we saw she was just walking away from sea gate broken?
I think they are speaking of when they out smarted a God and made off with the most powerful weapon they have ever encountered. You know real moral breaking things, besting foes and obtaining unfathomable power. How did she go from that to an arrogant prick who thought she could take on the Eldrazi. Makes no sense.
Wrong. I'm speaking of when Kiora got wrecked by Kozilek, exposed as a fraud, only to emerge arrogant again rather than face repercussions for the foolish confidence she had in herself that cost so many creatures and people their lives.
Are you talking about the part where she had a 20 minute soul searching expedition and returned humbled enough to work with others rather than forge ahead on her own? Or the part where she was proven wrong and walked away rather somberly?

Alright, I'll grand you that. Now that I think about it, they exposed her claustrophobia that way as well. I digress.
As far as "outsmarting" - Thassa being unfamiliar with PWs is hardly being outsmarted (outmaneuvered perhaps). I wouldn't be surprised to find Kiora's antics further fueled adversity toward PWs that ultimately lead to Heliod's behavior against Elspeth when he discovered what happened to his sister. As if Xenagos hadn't been enough of a mess.
Well the players guide added some more fuel to the "Jaya is going to die" theory though in a different manner;
"Unlike the temporal adept Teferi and the artificial planeswalker Karn, Jaya is aging normally, fully accepting that she is near the end of a long and productive life"
Also it mentions that Karn is on Dominiaria looking for a weapon to help him contain and cleanses planes from Phyrexia.

So wait wait wait, Karn and Teferi are both on Dominaria looking for old Artifacts and they haven't collaborated once. SMFH.

Well 1) Dominaria is big, creative has even said one of the reason to bring back the weatherlight was so the characters could travel the plane and not have it take months, so it very easy for Karn to hide out on Yavimaya (which is what they are hinting at) away from the rest of the actions of the story and 2) player guid confirms what the story suggested, Karn is grieving over Vensers death and Mirrodin becoming New Phyrexia, so I guess he's not the most social at the moment.

I still don't see why everyone is crying over Venser. Karn met Venser like once before Venser killed himself for Karn. I still think Venser being the reason Karn and Jhoira aren't talking is laughable.
As for transport I am assume where just going to ignore Venser's Ambulator and Teleportation Tech?
After all what makes the Weatherlight special is moving across planes. kaladesh has what hundreds of ships that can fly.

Jaya is a pyromancer, so she already has an inherent disadvantage with Bolas.
Jhoira paced away toward the compass stand, running a hand through her hair. She didn't want to believe it, but it was exactly the kind of thing Venser would do. After her relief for Karn, this was a crushing sadness. Venser had been barely older than Raff when she had known him, and she had loved him as a friend, though he had felt more for her. Her back to Ajani, she asked, "Is this why Karn hasn't come to find me?"
Ajani shook his head. "I don't know. But . . . it seems a natural assumption."
I'll have to find him, Jhoira thought. Karn was her friend too, and their grief for Venser was shared. She rubbed her eyes. There were other things to deal with first. She said, "And Phyrexia?"
"An entire plane has fallen to them, but they've been contained there. No other planes should be in any danger." Ajani sounded reassuringly certain.

I don't think they are necessarily ignoring the Ambulator. In Episode 5:
Jhoira moved so fast it was like she had teleported. Suddenly in front of Jodah, she flicked her fingers at the approaching globe.
That certainly seems to imply that she still has it and can/does use it, at least for short range teleportation.
I think the only reason the story doesn't flat out say that it was teleportation is because that section wasn't from Jhoira's point of view.

My recollection is that the ambulator was a vehicle in which one person could sit and two or three people could stand. Not really a pocket-sized thing. I think the author in the above excerpt was just using a familiar writing phrase (like 'fast as lightning,' or 'faster than the blink of an eye') instead of referencing the pretty big old artifact.
I'm not surprised that Karn is torn up over Venser. He's not the most rational robot ever; he's given to pretty strong emotional reactions over things happening to his friends.

Venser wasn't his friend though. He met Venser like twice. Once when Venser was hanging around Teferi and Jhoira and again when Venser showed up to save him. He should feel bad about leaving KOTH to fight on alone and you know accidentally telling the Praetors to go full genocide. But about Venser specifically just no.

It seems like you are deliberately trying to ignore the actual events of timespiral in favor of cliff notes versions. Regardless of how often he met Venser he formed a bond with him that they both cherished. On top of that its hardly a simple 'Venser is dead so Karn feels bad". Venser sacrificed himself to save Karn, that kind of thing would be devastating to someone like Karn. He would feel as though he had personally murdered him. Is he just supposed to find to Jhoira and go "Hey, I'm fine but I murdered our friend, everything's cool right?". Also, he would only feel bad for Koth if he went back and saw that he was still fighting. He told him its over there was no saving Mirrodin, they should leave and try to actually do good.
It's kind of weird that the whole Scooby Gang is crying about poor Venser, who they probably knew for only a week, yet no one gives a nezumi's ass about poor ol' Barrin..

Having never read the Time Spiral story, I can't claim to have any idea about it's size. Though it's possible that as an experienced artificer herself Jhoira managed to adapt and miniaturize the technology? No idea, just spitballing.
Sure Jhoira could have shrunk it but while she is a Great Artificer, she is still also a Wizard so there is no reason to assume she didn't use a spell in my book.
True enough. I just didn't know the specifics size of the ambulator, though I did know of its existence, so it was an easy connection/assumption for my mind to make about the scene.

No worries, I only recently read them myself because all three only recently came out on ebook.
The ambulator was big-ish. Venser had designed one from scavenged Phyrexian parts, and then he, with Jhoira and her fellow Ghitu, spent weeks or so making a better, streamlined version from all new materials. Jhoira could operate the thing herself later on, but it had to be big enough to generate like a shell shield around the occupants to protect them from the energies of teleportation. And you had to sit in the chair and have controls. The design and tech ultimately came from Venser, though.
