So now that we have had multiple planes that have gone through their own mini-apocalypse / turn bad, what do you think is the ultimately better "Bad End" someone can get stuck with? The planes I pretty much have focused on in this one are New Phyrexia / Formerly Mirrodin / Formerly Argentum, Amonkhet, and Zendikar (going to count SoI in this one since the bad end is the same). However, if there is another fate on another plane that sounds good give it a shout out.
So, my vote for best "Bad End" is probably Phyrexian Unlife. I primarily like it because at the end of the day the victim at least gets to keep their original memories intact in the best case scenario and can try to fight his way up a pyramid scheme. The worst "Bad End" is probably Amonkhet Eternalization as it basically turns the former person into a robot with their skill set.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

But what happened on Innistrad and Zendikar was different. On Zendikar people were killed (or rather erased from existence) while on Innistrad they were morphed into eldritch monstrosities. Heck, one might even separate between being killed by Ulamog and being mutilated and killed by Kozilek.

But even with all memories intact, isn't the person the new phyrexian used to be essentially dead? Are we not more than just our memories? Isn't the thing that makes a person that person also their opinions, their goals, hopes, dreams and aspirations etc? I don't think phyrexianization counts as "survival", unless we talk about the survival of only a part of that person.
But I guess this goes into highly philosophical territory. Continuity of consciousness and all. Every moment of our life we die and a new self is reborn. Yadda yadda. Where do you draw the line et cetera.

On the last point basically yes. It's all opinion, really, on whether phyrexian unlife is any better than being an eternal. However, I do think lore wise it is possible to retain oneself as a phyrexian to some degree, which isn't really the case with the eternals and especially not the case with the eldrazi. Depending on which titan one got stuck with it was erasure, forced evangelion / Deep one merging into a collective being, or worse. So my money is on New Phyrexia being the best worst end. Dear gods I forgot about Grixis, though. I wasn't around for Alara and that just sounds horrible when I read about the plane.

New Phyrexia would be the worst. Amonkhet and Innistrad have a divine protector(s)and post-conflux the people of Grixis could escape to the other areas of the shards and at access to white and green mana for healing and protection.
Best so far seems Zendikar, not only was it big enough to survive being hit on by the eldrazi but it seems all the races now are somewhat more connected and empathetic towards each other.

I honestly think that Phyrexianization would be the worst. I wouldn't want my consciousness to continue on beyond my agency. That just means that whatever is left of you is stuck as a hapless passenger as your physical form carries out atrocity after atrocity that you're powerless to do anything about.
If I'm not ME anymore then I just want to end.
