Got the Amonket Artbook early (the benefits of working at a book store)gonna post the rest of the story here for discussion
-The Gatewatch kill Razaketh, who bleeds into the Luxa river as the Hour of Revelation begins, revealing a huge necropolis and 3 sarcophagi
-The Scorpion God appears out of the first, slaying Rhonas who went out to meet it in combat.
-The Locust God comes next, his locusts devouring the Hekma and unleashing the desert.
-The Gatewatch fight to save the people, but Bolas only mocks them as they fight. Gideon is next to Oketra as she is also killed by the Scorpion God. Kefnet is also killed by the Scorpion God
-Bontu and Hazoret, the only 2 living Gods, fight to win the God-Pharoh's favour. Bontu incapitates Hazoret as she is also fighting to defend the people of Amonket. Bontu brings Hazoret to Bolas as an offering, but Bolas only kills Bontu. Hazorat escapes with her initates as Bolas faces the Gatewatch.
-The Scarab God emerges last, leading the Eternals, Bolas new immortal army. They retain the skills of their former lives, but none of their old memories.
-The Scorpion God chases after Hazoret, who are followed by Samut and Djeru. The two humans leads Hazorets remaining initiates against the Scorpion God and some Eternals, finally managing to impale the Scorpion God on an obilisk and kill it. Hazoret, as the last remaining free god, promises to protect the people of Amonket and the heart of it's people.
-It's unclear how Samut's Planeswalker spark ignites, but it occurs after she saves Hazoret from the Scorpion God. It may be possible it is due to his poison.
-Bolas wants to humiliate the Gatewatch and show them his power. He starts by baiting Jace into reading his mind to learn his secrets and plans. Jace falls for it and Bolas crushes his mind. The catatonic Jace planeswalks away. He targets Liliana next, forcing her to use the Chain Veil, and then completely overpowering her despite it. She retreats as well. Nissa tries to use the life force and leylines of the plane, but Bolas has warped them to the point that death is stronger than life magic. Chandra tries to overpower him with pyromancy, but Bolas simply grabs her in his palm. She flees before being crushed to death.
-As the last standing member, Bolas taunts Gideon about his failure to lead the Gatewatch. His invulnerability is useless against Bolas's strength and he too is forced to flee before being impaled on his claws.
That is what I got from the story section, can post pictures and pages if people want to see them.
Yes, Hazoret is the only normal god to survive. As for what Bolas is after, it was an army of Eternals. They are essentially armoured and immortal warriors that retain all their training as acolytes, but retain no memories of their lives. The lazotep basically records all their skills, which they can still perform as immortals. These pages might help.
No, they all planeswalk away before being killed. By the sound of it, Jace is basically a vegetable, Lili is suffering from using the Chained Veil and the rest got roughed up by Bolas.
Fair enough, although I really wanted to see the scorpion god embaled on a massive obelisk. Alright what of Bontu trying to offer up Hazoret to Nicol Bolas or at least Bontu's Death?
Again sadly no art of that in the book. Most of the HoD art is focused on Bolas and the monster Gods. The only one we see is Rhonas getting bad touched by the Scorpion God.
“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
Nothing really about the Monster Gods, but they go into details about the personalities and duties of the Amonket Gods, as well as their relationships with initiates, acolytes, viziers and each other. Cool little details like Kefnet picks his viziers before the Ceremony of Measurement and Bontu doesn't pick Viziers, rather they must be bold and claim the role themselves. I think the most endearing for me is that Hazoret sometimes asks initiates for a token or show of affection after an enjoyable moment so she may treasure it always.
I'm surprised even one lived. By the look of it Bolas has completely destroyed the city and put most of the population to the sword. A return to Amonkeht would be interesting to see, given how little remains.
Yeah, though its a little strange. The passage says "She helped save Hazoret from the string of the scorpion god, preserving one fragile ray of hope for the future of Amonkhet. And, as the god of zeal knelt to reward her, Samut's Planeswalker spark ignited and sent her away into the Blind Eternities." I'm not sure if that implies that Hazoret tried to give her the glorious death or not, but given how things have changed I doubt that is the case. I think she may of been poisoned by the venom of the Scorpion God and that was what caused her spark to ignite.
No art based on the Curse, but we do learn a bit about it. It actually is a thing that happened naturally in Amonkhet. Turns about that it's the one *****ty thing on the plane Bolas didn't make.

Interesting that it is a natural phenomenon, still doesn't really explain where it comes from, but at least it rules out Bolas scheming.
Is there any art from HOU or the Gods we haven't seen yet?

Yeah, guess you are right. But they do this all the time. They create a world and then just wreak havoc on it and utterly destroy it to the point of near extinction of the inhabitants. It's not only Amonkhet, but also Innistrad, Zendikar, Mirrodin, Alara kind of and yes, unbeloved Kamigawa too. It gets boring and we loose interesting worlds and places and characters.
Yet this didn't happen to Kaladesh, Tarkir (people are living alonside dragons), Shandalar (featured in at least 2 core sets), Theros, Ravnica, Fiora (even if Fiora is not part of the main plot) and to some extent to Lorwyn/Shadowmoor.
So, no, they don't do this all the time and yours is just an exageration.
On the other hand, seeing a plane getting thrashed badly becomes old quite fast, especially if the plane has some potential.
I mean, at least two of those are still rather explicitly bad endings, and both Tarkir and Lorwyn/Shadowmoor resulted in a complete overhaul of their planes too. It's pretty common really.
And Hazoret living is surprising. I hope we can get more Gods at least next time, Amonkhet seems to be popular. But it'll be a pretty bleak place from the sounds of it.
And the Army of Eternals seems like a weird goal still, but given we still don't know why he released the Eldrazi it's probably not an answer we will get soon.
Does it say anything about Tezzeret, the Planar Bridge, or Ashiok (the last one is a hail mary theory)? It seems Merciless Eternal's outfit is what is represented by all those horn-headed hieroglyphs.

It's kind of amazing how we have people who complain that Magic always has too many good endings and other people complaining too many bad endings.

Bolas is powerful but he can't be everywhere at once. Having an army of autonomous warriors seems... incredibly useful.

So the plane was already doomed from the start and all Nicol Bolas did was speed up the process for the curse. Amonkhet seems more and more like one of the worst places to visit for a vacation. Even Innistrad is actually looking quite attractive in comparison and that place is filled with vampires, ghouls, werewolves, ghosts and more.
I really hope that bit about how he beats Jace is one of the spots where the art book and the actual story are incongruous. The idea that Jace would accept an invitation into the mind of Bolas, from Bolas himself, strains credulity almost as much as Gids vs. Ulamog. I'm sure lota of people here are happy to see it but it's just so out of character. This isn't the first time Jace has run up against Bolas. He knows better. WotC sometimes you really let your faithful down. Guess I wasnt found worthy.

Does the book goes more into detail about the curse of wandering and is there any more art that we haven't seen yet?
