I'm not sure about her taking the Oath, sure i can see her going all "For the underdogs and mistreated i will keep watch", but after Chandra and Gids seeing Lili walking away on then, i'm sure they are going to be waaaaaaaaaaay more cautious about new members in the gatewatch (especially one with murderous tendencies)
"For All the underdogs I will keep watch (This is gonna be awkward when Jace remembers that I am an enemy of the Guildpact)"
Thats what I'm really wanting to see. How they go on when Jace remembers their conflict. Love to see how he views her now he has seen the good and bad parts of her. Also Gideon (and maybe Nissa) already know her as a murder.
After Bolas I think the Gatewatch will be more willing to accept more members, since that seems like the next logical step to take out Bolas, and from Maro podcast on HoD we know Bolas will start taking a bigger role in the story and "in the open". For that reason I except Samut to join them soon.

Nah someone from Amonkhet needs to have a hand needs to avenge the dead gods (not Bontu) and the two still corrupted gods for me to get fulfillment of Bolas downfall.

The ironic thing about all this Gatewatch talk is, aren't they (creative) trying to minimize their presence overall?
Nope. On the creative side we won't be see every member showing up as a big group like we have. The Gatewatch are the protagonists and while we might get small stories that not have them in it or having them play more of a background, over all we will be we will get more gatewatch storylines then not.

To expand on this, the Gatewatch will continue to be our story protagonists for the foreseeable future, it's their presence on cards that is being pulled back on. Players were getting tired of Gatewatch members automaticaly eating half of all possible planeswalker slots in the physical product. (And having entire hand worth of versions in standard at one time.)
Was going to bed and had one crazy thougt: What if Jace and Vraska don't win the race (no i don't think they will end up traped in Ixalan) but who knows, its not impossible.

"Who wants to waste more time on a boring plane and an even more boring character than we already have." which is one of the reasons I think they need to stop making a new planeswalker for every single block we come into, they have started to be check boxes with less personality than plain yogurt.

Try this format for your criticisms: "I didn't like [card/mechanic/character/set] because [reasons]." It's much less likely to annoy those who happened to like that card, mechanic, character, or set.

Considering the original response was half meant in jest, I don't really need your help in formatting, however since it got panties in a tizzy I doubled down because. "Lets waste more time on characters that don't mean anything and will never appear outside of this plane." is a great idea when you only have 10 short stories to use.
Amonkhet was a pointless waste of time on every front, and there is no reason to go back outside of supplemental products.
But yes, I agree, Samut and Huatli aren't the most interesting of characters.
They've gone off the deep end following Narset. None of the native walkers of the planes we've visited since Tarkir are remotely as interesting. And Narset wasn't terribly deep, but she did have proper development throughout the block, and has a few character quirks that give her some charm. But since then, Saheeli? Zzz. Samut? Zzz. Arlinn Kord? ____flatline. Huatli? Sorta generic so far. Kaya? Right, I forgot about her too. I guess Kiora and Ob Nixilis got some proper development in BFZ, the former developed to be unlikable and the latter the opposite.
I personally think the problem here is the focus on the Gatewatch, which allows them to hog the story beats, and the shortened/abolished block structure, which doesn't allow enough of a window of opportunity for new/secondary characters to shine, unless they join the Gatewatch in some fashion. So the problem kinda comes full circle that way... But hey, they say their consumer stats show people want superhero teams, so.
The Gatewatch has nothing to do with why the recent new planeswalkers have been dull, 2/3 are dull because they are intrinsically tied to they plane they are in mechanics wise. Arlinn will never be seen outside of Innistrad because she can't transform out of it, Huatli will never be out of Ixilan because she is tied to Dinosaurs.
Samut was just terrible writing. "The Rebel speaking truth to power against the utopia." doesn't work as a trope when the reader already knows that utopia is run by an evil elder dragon.
And you think none of that has to do with the focus having to be on the main cast of gatewatch members? People write all of those things you mentioned, you know. People who are following a mandate. A mandate that focuses on, you know.

I dont think its because of mechanical ties. Theres no reason for Arlinn to only show up on Innistrad. She's locked to her lupine form away from home. That alone could make for some interesting stories. I think of the recent Planeswalkers Arlinn is the most interesting. Saheeli was bad because she was prominently featured on all the splash art for the set and ended up doing almost nothing the whole set and only showed up in like two stories. Poor marketing. Samut felt cliched and poorly written. And now Huatli who's just boring. I mean she is a right and proper, textbook, Mary Sue. All of these new walkers, post-origins, could be believably expanded beyond their "mechanical homes" its just that no one wants to see them because of how boring or poorly written they were.
Wasn't Arlinn literally an archmage before she sparked? If Tamiyo can have a Bant card, I'm sure they can represent Arlinn without having to be a transform card. If we can't have faith in their ability to find game space outside of her minimal restrictions, then I guess we can panic.
What would an Arlinn Card look like away from Innistrad? No DFC, no werewolf mechanics to use. She would just be..another G/R planeswalker.
Arlinn's card didn't care about werewolves at all. "Werewolf" doesn't appear once on her card, and her transformation trigger is completely independent of the werewolf mechanic. The only things tying her to werewolves are flavor and the fact that she's a DFC. But then, Garruk also got a DFC planeswalker card and he's not even tangentially affiliated with werewolves, so honestly you may as well discount that tie as well.
An off-world Arlinn card would look exactly like her on-world card, minus the DFC aspect. The reason she would be "another G/R planeswalker" is because mechanically she IS a fairly generic G/R walker, even in her werewolf affiliated card form.
EDIT: And for the record, I found what little we saw of Arlinn (all one and a half stories she appeared in) infinitely more interesting than most of other 'walkers to show up in SoI block (Second only to Tamiyo, maybe tied with Nahiri).
Are any of the Titans alive ? if so they would be the go to allies against Bolas, also Serra but im pretty sure she's dead.
On the Arlinn note, she doesn't need werewolf synergy, i think the only think that really need to be a part of her kit is the ability to turn into a werewolf.

Yeah, and Huatli isn't tied down mechanically to her plane either.... what cuz she makes a dinosaur token?
I believe none of the other titan planeswalkers are alive. Lord Windgrace and Freyalise made it out of the invasion, but died in Time Spiral block I think. I'm sure they can find some powerful allies (with grudges?) against Bolas on Dominaria regardless.

Some people like seeing more of the worlds than just whoever a planeswalker happens to interact with. For us, those sorts of stories are hardly a waste of time.
And showing that your previously-invincible heroes can be beaten with ease by the character you're setting up as the primary villain, setting up new tensions among them, and providing a natural lead-in to the next storyline (and probably several more to follow), all within an interesting setting and a fun product, is far from pointless. I have my criticisms of Amonkhet, but on the whole, I found it to be an improvement over several blocks preceding it.
