So i was looking at the card and the hitns, and is gideons intervention, him saving Derji (Or his crop mate dude) whose best friend of samut? In the card, gideon is stopping the Red god from killing Derji as he probably won the final trial gauntlet, and it looks like Samut is the one grabbing him out of the way in the card
i kinda thought that too, but when i was looking to see what cards samut was in, it didnt say gideons intervention so i thought it would be interesting to see, which means nexxt chapter or the one afterwards will be a tldr: djeri wins, gideon saves him gg
The thing is, Djeru will probably not like Gideon for doing so. Right before the arrival of the God-Pharaoh he finally managed to become worthy just in time and now this annoying dissenter Gideon actually tries to keep him from dying the glorious death he struggled so hard for to achieve.

The secret to enjoyable Commander games is not winning first, but losing last.

Possibly, but it could be the case that Hours of Devastation happens and everyone realizes that Samut was right. I could see if Djeru did awaken that he wouldn't begrudge Gideon if it turns out that he would have died in vain. Especially if his eyes are open to the reality of the multiverse.
