forgive me if this is the wrong place and move if this is the wrong place but I felt this might be the right area.
I know Shandalar appeared in most of the more recent core sets (Magic 2010-2015) and it was the title of a game way back when. I just wanted to know if they could do an entire block on the plane. or have they covered everything possible for the world?
Not sure that's ever going to happen - other than nostalgia, Shandalar doesn't have that much of a "hook", and even then it's rather more obscure than Dominaria is for the nostalgia grab. The one thing that distinguishes it from other planes is its massive and powerful mana quantities, which frankly can also describe Zendikar, and Zendikar is a lot more unique.
Shandalar has been used in core sets as a sort of "Dominaria replacement", like a generic home-base plane to make nonspecific flavor references to. Now that core sets are no more, maybe we'll see it referenced in Commander and Planechase, but that's about it.
People have done pretty cool Shandalar custom sets, though.
The Rabiah Scale indicates it's possible but unlikely. It's kind of their current 'generic' setting, although seeing Faerie Dragons again (one unique aspect of the old setting) would be cool.
Not really a hook there for a whole block, but between Slivers and the Chain Veil there might be one day.
I guess now that other users point it out, it does have a few weaknesses that make it hard to do as a block, like not being as unique as Zendikar but being similar and maybe it is best used as a generic world

Thank you, yeah I knew there was an off-hand mention that Yisan, the Wanderer Bard had been to the Eloren Wilds in The Bard and the Biologist, but nothing more than that.
There is an unusual factor about Shandalar that could make it an interesting setting and have an cool, albeit sad story.
Shandalar is also known as being a 'wandering' plane, that doesn't seem to have a fixed place in the multiverse.
This is perplexing as perhaps, because of its mercurial nature and, at times close proximity to other planes, it may be easier to establish a planar connection to this plane than others when it is in close proximity.
Set 1: Travels of Shandalar, a quirky re-introduction of all things Shandalaran.
Set 2: Phyrexian Greetings
Yes, the ambient nature of Shandalar would make it a perfect landing pad for New Phyrexia's forces, assuming they could use its nature to hijack other planes.
Probably won't happen but it'd be funny, up the ante, and tie an otherwise difficult setting into the larger story albeit with costs.

That would be really cool. And then the Praetors would rename the place New Rath.
This could definitely happen, I think a recent planar invasion of some sort has already happened on Shandalar. The story "Prisoner of the Skep; Or, How I Encountered the Slivers—And Lived to Tell the Tale!" seems to be implying that Shandalar's proximity to Dominaria led to the introduction of Slivers to Shandalar.
Baseless speculation: this sets the stage for first-wave invaders against second-wave invaders! Duel Decks: Slivers vs New Phyrexia.

That would be a bit of an odd homecoming, wouldn't it? The slivers were originally creatures that Volrath, an agent of Phyrexia, had genetically modified to be more efficient killers, and which had made it to Dominaria through the Rath overlay, and subsequently Shandalar.
I wonder if the Slivers could be considered an entirely new species, or if they have any sort of "genetic memory" of their Phyrexian origins.
Who knows? Maybe? I admit the Idea of Phyrexianized Slivers sounds terrifying!
Interestingly the solution to a potential Phyrexian incursion is also identifiable: The Onnake/ Chainveil.
assuming that the Chainveil is more powerful by then and Lili has already killed all her demons or all but one, the artefact may already be ripe to fulfil it's doomsday mission. It would make for an interesting and grim plot for the Gatewatch's only solution to be to destroy the plane for the the sake of the rest of the multiverse, this would be especially difficult for Gideon and Nissa to come to grips with. I would also suspect Garruk would also be involved were such a plot point to come up.

I actually really like that idea.
Kind of off topic, but how many of her demons has Lily killed by now?

I second that idea too, and as for Lili: Two down, two to go. Kothophed and Yung Grizzy are dead and the (relatively) recently revealed Razaketh and Belzenlok are still living. Razaketh is Amonkheti.

Right, The Chain Veil! Forgot about those weirdos, the Onakke. Of course, that just goes to show how memorable the setting as a whole is.

It does not. It's just another location on Shandalar, one they happened to choose for a Planechase card. It's no more significant than The Hippodrome.
