I just recently got into playing MTG and now am starting to collect the Art Books so I may get an idea of story lines behind the cards and creatures, etc. So far I can see there is one for Innistrad, Kaladesh and Zendikar, with Amonkhet coming this summer. Are there none for Aether Revolt, Eldritch Moon or Gatewatch? Or are they part of the other ones I already mentioned? My apologies if this already has a thread (could not find it) or if I am posting in the wrong section (if so, please move it!). Thanks!

The art books are for the entire block (the large and small expansion) not just the sets. So the Zendikar Art Book is Battle for Zendikar and Oath of the Gatewatch, for example. Although if I remember correctly it covers everything related to Zendikar leading up to BFZ.
If you're interested in learning more about the story, make sure to give the Storyline Resources Thread a read-through. The story of the current crop of characters goes back a ways.

Thank you very much! Glad to know I have only a few books to get and a lot of reading to do! That works for me!!

Quick book recommendation: DO NOT read the novels In the Teeth of Akoum, Test of Metal or Quest for Karn. Almost all the specific details in In the Teeth of Akoum have been retcon'd, and it'll probably only confuse you. Double that for Test of Metal, it is as not canon as a novel can be without being explicitly retcon'd altogether. Quest for Karn just isn't particularly good, and a one paragraph summary is about as good. I've got summaries for all of them in various archive traps (but the one for Quest for Karn won't be published for another month or two yet.
