I was just looking through my comic collection and came upon Mystic, a comic series from Crossgen, but remade by Marvel after the former company went bankrupt. The similarity between the world of Hyperion and Kaladesh is quite interesting.
Mystic talks about two girls who grew up in a world where technology is powered by a magical phenomenon call Aether, which creates wonders such as life-like machines and pushes vehicles. The younger sister eventually became part of the academics who masters and control the Aether resources, while the older sister became a rebel who wants to "free" Aether for all to use. The sisters on two sides of the rebellion that changed the politics of the world forever.
Granted, Kaladesh is definitely superior in terms of art, and has the richness of planeswalkers-backed storyline, but the setting of Hyperion and Kaladesh is clear, even down to the name of the debatable substance of Aether and the eventual rebellion.

Sounds familiar? Here is a brief description of the comic: http://comicsalliance.com/marvel-mystic-miniseries-preview/
