Inspired by this weeks story and the awesome return of Ajani. Basically, I noticed that I read Ajani's lines in Liam Neeson's voice (I guess because of Aslan, but mixed with Taken and Qui Gon Jinn). I started thinking about other walkers and what voice I hear as I read their lines. Here's what I've got so far. I feel that finding a voice for a character makes it easier to imagine the scene and creates a better experience when reading, so please share your picks so people can get more ideas!
Ajani: Liam Neeson
Liliana: I feel like the want you to imagine Scar Jo, but I end up hearing Cruella DeVille based on the way her lines are written.
Jace: Generic late 20s early 30s white male, so most Jake Gyllenhaal roles
Gideon: Thor reading Cap's lines
I don't have any others yet

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
I vary in how much I try to imagine voices in written fiction, but it's never really been something I've done for Magic story: for the most part, voices for me come attached to faces of people that I picture as written characters (if I'm imagining what they look like, I might as well imagine what they sound like), and we already have images of most Magic characters' faces (varied though they may be).
That said, if I did do that for Magic, I'd use...well, in the case of Nissa, Jace, and Liliana, I'd just use the voices from their respective trailers (BFZ for Nissa, SOI for Jace, EMN for Liliana). Ajani would probably be Keith David, with a similar sort of intonation as what he used for the Arbiter. Gideon would be...pretty much exactly what you wrote, actually. I'm not sure about Chandra - everything I come up with is either too childish or too mature. I'm pretty sure I'd know what Dovin's voice should sound like if I heard it, but I'm having trouble putting words or thoughts to what that sound would be. Haven't really got a good enough grasp on anyone else to even hazard a guess.

I always imagined Bolas having a British accent. I don't know why. I just roll with it. Mark Strong probably works the best because his voice is deeper. Otherwise, Tom Hiddleston works too.
Everyone from Zendikar is voiced by New Zealanders aside from Nahiri who gets an Australian VA because she was underground so long that the vocal style has changed.
Trust me, there are pretty significant differences in the dialects.

“Tell me who you walk with, and I'll tell you who you are.” Esmeralda Santiago Art is life itself.
Like some of the other walkers Chandra has voicing in Duels 2014 and it's a pretty good one. For Gids I imagine something sufficiently self righteous. Like Superman from the Justice League cartoons. I think Tamiyos voice would be soft and melodic. Can't really think of a suitable real world comparison off the top of my head.
Because of Ajani's size and the fact that I would like to imagine that his voice is akin to a lion's growl, I imagine him with an extremely deep voice like one of Ving Rhames, mostly, or James Earl Jones.
I think of Gideon's voice being fairly deep as well but in a more conventionally heroic tone.
I always think of Jace as being voiced by the guy who voiced Ral Zarek in the Dragon's Maze set trailer. A voice which I think would be perfect for Jace but is very off for Ral Zarek, who simply looks like he would sound much older and more refined. Or simply the guy who voiced Jace for the Shadows Over Innistrad trailer. Is that the same guy?
I always imagined Sarkhan having a slight accent. Hanzo's VA from Overwatch would be rather perfect. "Let the dragon comsume you" is a very Sarkhan line.

I think Ral's voice actor from the Dragon's Maze trailer is probably the most perfect voice for him. I can definitely picture that when I go back and read his lines in The Secretist.

Yeah, I could see that working for Ajani. Either one really fits the character.
As for some of the others, I'm not actually thinking celebrities or characters but styles, and I find that, for me anyway, "casting" a celebrity or character as the voice just helps me keep their voice consistent in my head. For most books, its easy and I find their voice develops on its on based on their characterization, but with so many different authors writing, with different styles for the same characters, I get a lot of I guess I'd call it drift in what I imagine them sounding like unless I have an easy access mental anchor or reference. Jace was easy because he's sort of bland and generic by design, and I actually had his voice without even thinking of Gyllenhaal until I started the thread and thought of an example. I guess I should actually watch the trailers that you guys mentioned.
Chandra's actually pretty tough, I go between whiny kid and psycho too much with her. Nissa I read as a boring, sort of monotone deep but soft voice, as I'm thinking of it now kind of like Emily Blunt from Huntsman: Frozen but Evil, but lobotomized (you can probably tell I can't stand Nissa).
As for Bolas, Weird Al Yankovic. Mainly because he's such a blatant mustache twirler and his entire character arc since Alara block has been setting up a Rube Goldberg machine of an evil scheme more convoluted and reliant on others and with less of an apparent goal than the Joker's "plan" in The Dark Knight that I just cannot take him seriously. Maybe that will change next block if we finally get some idea after almost a decade of what the hell he's actually trying to do, but as of right now I can't help but give him Weird Al's zany voice ala Darkseid in Teen Titans Go. And be honest, go reread that webcomic where Bolas keeps pestering Tezzeret to go to Mirrodin and read Bolas' lines in Weird Al's voice, that's brilliant.

Honestly I had completely forgotten watching the Dragon's Maze trailer, but pulling it up on youtube I remembered it and I can agree; I don't find it a good fit for him at all. I always read him with the voice of the Sith Warrior from SWTOR (VA Mark Bazeley). I'm not sure why I gave him a British accent, but it just seemed to fit for me.
I also agree with Gids being Thor-as-Captain-America.
Bolas - John Hurt w/dragony voice effects (like Smaug)
Liliana - Bayonetta
Jace - Rami Malek
Ajani - Keith David is perfect. Maybe James E. Jones, just so he can say "and the antelope eat the grass"
Chandra - Mindy Kaling
Tamiyo - Thandie Newton
Strictly their voices..... okay maybe I picture Liliana acting like Bayonetta a little bit.

Then again, both gals love killing angels, so I guess I can agree to your point there about Hellena Taylor (Bayo's VA).
Or maybe not I don't know, just because Lili found a second home in Innistrad doesn't mean she's british
Now I'm imagining someone with Romanian accent (or something) to voice Sorin.... just can't figure who.... OK ok, that sounds boring.
Here's a few people who I think of when I consider potential VAs for major characters:
Gideon - Patrick Warburton (Joe from Family Guy, also was The Tick in both the animated and live action series)
Jace - Josh Keaton (Anduin Wrynn from Hearthstone/WoW) or David Vincent (Jin Kisaragi/Haku-Men from BlazBlue, Assassin from Fate/Stay Night)
Liliana - Laura Bailey (Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist, Jaina Proudmoore from Hearthstone/WoW)
Chandra - Wendee Lee (Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop, Athena Cykes from Phoenix Wright, way too many other famous roles to list)
Nissa (Pre-Origins retcon) - Christina Valenzuela (Noel Vermillion/Mu-12, Nu-13, and Lambda-11 from BlazBlue)
Nissa (Post-Origins retcon) - Stephanie Sheh (Orihime Inoue from Bleach, Princess Mercedes from Odin Sphere)
Ugin - Jamieson Price (Lord Genome from Gurren Lagann, Rider/Iskandr from Fate/Zero)
Sorin - Crispin Freeman (Alucard from Hellsing, Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya)
Nahiri - Grey DeLisle (Azula from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Nova from Starcraft II and Heroes of the Storm)
Bolas - Gary Chalk (Optimus Primal from Transformers: Beast Wars)
Tezzeret - Travis Willingham (Free from Soul Eater, Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist)
Ajani - Michael McConnohie (Uther Lightbringer and Kel'Thuzad from Heathstone/WoW)
Tamiyo - Lauren Landa (Litchi Faye-Ling from BlazBlue)
Speaking of Liliana, would Grey deLisle or Mary Elizabeth McGwynn work? McGwynn especially, since I remember she voices the sexy Nevan from Devil May Cry.
I chose Grey for Nahiri mainly because she does "Unhinged and crazy" very well, just see her work with Azula in Avatar. But she could also do a fine Liliana.

Nahiri doesn't remind of Azula. I can imagine Lili having that Azula sass when she speaks.
I also strongly disagree with Lili as Helena Taylor. Lili doesn't seem like she would have a British accent (also, I like Bayonetta and hate Lili :P)
Wow, thought I was weird for having head-canon voices. Thank God I'm not alone.
Pretty similar on a few.
Ral - Yuri Lowenthal
Ajani - Idris Elba
Sorin - Crispin Freeman (Dude nailed Alucard perfectly in Helsing)
Ugin - Liam Neeson
Bolas - Alan Rickman(I mean, dude has a great villain voice)
Dack Fayden - Matt Damon (entirely based off of Team America)
Gideon - Matthew Mercer
Nahiri - Laura Bailey

I just kind of read them all in a generic, in-head voice, with variance for different characters. The same voice pretty much, unless I'm reading out loud, then I use different voices.
