So, something that sticks out to me about the Gods' artwork; they all wield weapons (and each of those weapons is unique from each other). This makes me wonder if we're going to get another legendary artifact cycle like we had for the Theros Gods' weapons.
EDIT: Another thing that sticks out to me (in all the revealed Amonkhet artwork, not just the Gods') is that it's overcast in literally every picture.

Well if I recall correctly, I think the announcement of the Amonkhet art book stated that the city state at least is surrounded by a giant sandstorm, so that might be it. Memory is fuzzy so I might be mixing up my sources but I am pretty sure about the sandstorm thing.

Also some, but not all, of the weapons look like they might have Bolas horns incorporated in their design.
If these Gods aren't the most overpowered non planeswalking entity that we have seen so far then I'll be extremely disappointed. Assuming that Bolas did task them also with protecting the plane in his absence, which would only be a logical thing to do, and Amonketh was made pre-Mending, than it is safe to say that these Gods should be powerful enough not to stop but to at least put up a fight against oldwalkers. Remember, planeswalkers were extremely op back in the day so your guard dog had to be extremely op as well.
Eh, not really. Radiant would be an equivalent, and while she's strong, she's not OP.
Plus, the Mending basically nerfed the universe, not just walkers.

Bolas is also very prideful he might have figured if any walkers tried messing with his plane he'd be able to put a stop to it, what Sorin had done with Innistrad until making Avacyn and the Helvault. Avacyn would also be a good comparison as well.

I was just getting ready to say these gods could be comparable to Avacyn in that they're sufficient plane protectors that are quite powerful. They are also, from what we know so far "artificial" in the same sense that Amonkhet is artificial by being created from a PW rather than naturally spawning (presumably from raw mana and materials as planes do in the Miltiverse?). Theros gods are natural formations within the metaphysics of Theros, and actually govern its natural elements. These gods could be gods, but more akin to powerful legends (like Avacyn) styled as gods, rather than being actual divinities which govern nature the way Theros gods do. That's why I expect these gods to be unique and have certain functions, traits and followers, but not actually have domains like sun or sea.
Amonkhet has two suns, for example, and I doubt two of its five gods are sun gods.

Why? Bolas could certainly grant them control of X if he so wished. Being natural or not doesn't impact power level. For what it's worth Avacyn seemed able to alter things pretty well, what with being able to change the nature of the curse of the Werewolf. Arguably Avacyn had at least one particular domain too, though it was broad it's not out there for a God.
cyberium_neo found full art images of the gods and of Gideon and ....Nissa :flame:. So far it really looks like the gods where put in WUBRG order (or at least thier main colors).
Cat god- It seems as if she has a bunch of mummies as servants. Could be we see the introduction of white zombies?
Croc god- defiantly the black god since he got an army of undead worshippers.

I would love to finally see white's interpretation of zombies. The idea that the mindless dead can serve as workers while the living go out and do other stuff like educate themselves better or make laws or make beautiful art. Need a farm tilled? Zombies. Need to build a new monument to your god-pharaoh Nicol Bolas? Zombies. As why bother with living labor that has the possibility of rebelling when you can just simply have a bunch of undead do that same work and possibly better when guided. People using zombies to harm others? Repurpose the zombies and punish the necromancer who really did the crime.

Make it easier for you all. I think Anubis lady is Grixis, while Croc dude is Jund or Mardu.
I would be so happy if the Croc god is grxis and has zombie related abilities to become a Grixis zombie tribal XD. The god been mono-clor would be fine aswell.
Maybe instead of devotion they could use Followers to fuel their power.

Was thinking about that as well in conjunction with the names of the trial.
Trial of Strength - Jund - Croc
and Trial of Ambition - Grixis - Jackal
would certainly fit.
Solidarity - Bant - Cat and Knowledge - Esper - Ibis could work as well.
Not sure about Zeal - Naya - Snake though...
I think Zeal would match up with red as central, and Strength with green as central. The rest I agree with.
EDIT: Actually, what if green was Solidarity, white was Zeal, and red was Strength?

Or that zombies here are also outside Black mana, as they were in Innistrad
Well a neat tidbit of egyptian mythology is that Sobek was many things. A healer, a guardian, a military figure, a guide. But he was also considered the god of strength and power.
Egypt to me is very sunny and vibrant. This overcast nonsense better be limited.
Amonkhet is said to be covered in a sandstorm.
Remember, this is "Bolas world" more than "egyptian world". It makes sense that a plane so aligned with Black that zombies are in White is only barely well lit.
Ancient Egypt is always a dark place in media anyways. Sure they worshiped the sun, but most people remember the mummies before the sun gods, so in most fantasy settings the Egypt stand in is always poorly lit
I think the original book description mentioned never ending sandstorms outside the city, but I think it's been changed. Now it says:
“When the Second Sun rests between the horns on the horizon, so begins the Hour of Revelation. Then the Hour of Glory, the Hour of Promise, and finally the Hour of Eternity.”
— The Accounting of Hours
The Second Sun creeps across the sky, growing ever closer to the horns of the God-Pharaoh. These pages, lavishly illustrated with the award-winning art of Magic: The Gathering®, will introduce you to the people of Amonkhet, whose life is a series of trials meant to prepare them for the great God-Pharaoh’s return. Join the heroic Planeswalkers of the Gatewatch as they come here to face the evil dragon Nicol Bolas, whose schemes span the planes of the Multiverse.
The glorious hope and desolate despair of Amonkhet await you as the final hours draw near!
