I need to get on that Bolas work out plan. If that's Rhonas he would barely stand past the Scorpion God's knee. I mean it wouldnt be the first one of these whose art made no sense but it seems unlikely that they would show one the the corrupted gods killing some random Naga.

Before you get on that work-out plan, I'd suggest reading the fine-print. I think it says something about getting your mind blanked.

Dang, the new gods are probably going to be even more massive than the other 5. Even if Rhonas was standing to his full height (and alive), the scorpion god would still stand head and shoulder above him.
So its possible that not all of the gods are going to die. I mean we've seen Bontu's Last Reckoning and art that looks like it could be for Hazorets, but we don't know if the other three will die or not. Since it seems like there will be survivora there could be one or two gods that make it and protect thw mortals as they make their new post-God-Pharoah lives in the desert. Maybe thats Rhonas' job. If anyone is going to not die in a fight its the God pf strength right?
The flavor text on one of the spoiled cards specifically says all the gods die.
So on Oketra's Last Mercy...is that Gideon she's holding? It's hard to tell, but it'd probably explain how Gideon would survive being defeated by Bolas.

Ya know pragmatism isn't really Bolas' black trait. He could have wanted to see the gatewatch suffer amd to you with them so he spared he didn't kill them.
Gideon is all about her main virtue, looking out for others. I could see why she would revive him if indeed he does get hecka wrecked by Bolas. We already know he will get his beefy butt handed to him, but to what degree?

Its hard to tell but the I think the man she is holding is bald. Also the armor although similar is a bit different and the sural seems to be missing. I dont think this is Gideon but you never know.

Yeah, Magic Europe tweeted a larger version of the card art and it's clearly not Gideon.

I think the mercy would have been to just let them die if it's not a planeswalker, you're not doing them a solid if you're bringing them back to a world that is just going to mercilessly murder them a second time.
Welp, let's sum up what we know right now from the spoilers, and go for a few predictions, try to get in that Creative "They were right!" folder.
1. None of the GW will die, though they'll all come very close. Per the "Defeat" cards, Bolas will mess up each one of them individually, humiliating them at their points of greatest strength.
2. All five of the gods will die, going out in similarly appropriate manners as Bolas and the three corrupted gods stomp them. I predict that none of the three evil gods will go down. Though it would be fun if one were killed, only to be immediately resurrected by Bolas.
3. Naktamun will be obliterated and left in ruins.
4. Some of the mortal residents will survive, and will have to do their best to scrape a new life together with a little Naga magic. This will leave open the possibility of the story returning to the plane in the future.
5. More specifically, Jace is going to end up on Ixalan as a "castaway." I suspect Bolas will "mindsculpt" him, and he might forget who he is.
6. Nissa could remain on Amonkhet, trying to help the survivors rebuild. I think this is doubtful, though. I would predict that she returns to Zendikar to reconnect with her friendly worldsoul.
7. Liliana will make herself scarce, no longer trusted by any of the other GW members. I doubt she'll lose the Chain Veil. She may go back to Innistrad or some place else where she can feel safe and in control.
8. Gideon won't die (see above), but will have his heretofor invincible invulnerability magic broken by Bolas. It would be cool if that permanently changes his powers, but we'll see. I don't know where he would flee to, possibly Ravnica to rejoin the Boros.
9. Chandra will be basically helpless, once she realizes that she can't meaningfully hurt Bolas. Perhaps she'll return to Kaladesh to recover at home.
10. Bolas will leave with his army of Immortals, which I predict can move between planes due to their Lazotep armor. He'll consider his objectives fulfilled, and won't bother completely obliterating all life on the plane. The only victories anyone will score against him will be simply surviving the apocalypse.
11. I speculate that the Core 2019 set will be themed around regathering the broken Gatewatch. It would be a great reason to pull cards from a bunch of different planes.
12. Way down the road, if we eventually get "Return to Amonkhet," it will be themed around rebuilding ruins. There will probably be new young gods, either versions of the original five or all new ones (an Osiris-like resurrected Oketra would be very cool, and we could see unused concepts like a falcon-headed god or a sun god). The three corrupted gods will still be around to serve as the set's main antagonists.
13. Hey, I forgot about Samut! She ignites when Djeru is killed, and planeswalks to...I dunno, let's say Alara. Or maybe Dominaria? She devotes her life to getting revenge on Bolas.

They're all pretty d**kish. I think Nissa's top billing though, because he's basically suggesting this whole world killing thing is kinda a hobby.
Like I edited, not very considering its Diabolic Edict
Yeah. Also The Scorpion God looks huge compared to Rhonas, unless I'm misunderstanding the scale.

Totally worth it.

We already have a wall!
*gulp* as I was saying, I'm gonna build a wall it'll be the best wall. It'll be yooge. And were gonna make the sandwurms pay for it.
Fixed that for you.
I mean, the sandwurms aren't the intruders who stroll around like they own the place.

Is that so? Because I just looked through all of the cards spoiled so far and haven't seen one that said that.

The phrase is "death of the gods"...so indeed not *specifically saying all* of the gods die.
There is some liberty in interpretation, but the simplest interpretation is the one he used.
