Hi everyone. I've been wondering if there was some official or canon short story or novel relating to the plain of Mirrodin/ New Phyrexia, specifically during the war or after it. Thanks!
The is a book that was released called A Quest for Karn. I believe it was the last physical book they published before switching to online stories and trying out ebooks.
Not very much, but you could always start with the Planeswalker's Guide, and go from there.
Cliff Notes of New Phyrexia at the moment seems to be: Venser's dead, Karn's legged it, Koth is in hiding, Elspeth returned to Theros after Koth (seemingly) sacrificed his life, Tezzeret's legged it, and Elesh Norn is the dominant Phyrexian, with Jin-Gitaxias and Vorinclex as her subordinates, and Urabrask and Sheoldred... not a clue.

It is by far some of the worst writing I have ever had the displeasure of reading regarding any topic. Avoid it and just go by the Planeswalkers Guides.

I don't know if a more vehement critique has ever been made of a piece of literature. I'll be sure to heed this advice though. Yikes.

If damnation were transferable though text, reading Quest for Karn is entrance to the deepest circle of Dante's Hell.
Also, the books are all still canon, they just might be more 'broad strokes' than anything else. The events inside have all happened, but they're either not referenced much (because they're trying to get more people invested in the story and requiring knowledge of a book published five years ago , and a not particularly good one at that, is counterproductive), or they should only be taken from a broad strokes perspective.
In general Wizards operates on Comics canon: Things are true until someone decides it'd be more interesting if they werent, but they might be true again later if subsequent writers disagree.

So you're saying there's still hope for a Greensleeves Planeswalker card?

You just one-upped yourself. Hot damn I'll be sure to only read this if I want to feel my brain melt.

I think this is a common misconception, but let me clarify something here.
Wizards is a game business, not a media business like comic books. Even in the comics, their job is to make interesting stories.
Wizard's primary job is to make a fun game. The story will always be secondary to that, although the best blocks tend to have great gameplay/flavor interaction.
But what that also means is that sometimes the story has to change because the set itself changes. The story is affected by a lot more business elements than other media.
A Pre-Revisionist planeswalker character. The Revision is when Wizards took creative control over the story, and pretty much ignored just about everything beforehand.

RIP Magic Duels. Wizards will regret what they did to you.

Everything that has been suggested is official. Quest for Karn was just so bad that most would prefer it wasn't.

The Lost Confession is a bridge between New Phyrexia and Theros.

Lol, no. If Greensleeves didn't show up by the end of the Phyrexian Invasion, it's not happening.
