It seems really cut and dry to me. Emrakul is the Eldritch moon. Jace and Tamiyo pleaded with Sorin for the safety of the plane, not to kill Avacyn. With her gone Emrakul is ready to descend upon the plane. Being the titan of corruption I'm sure her influence could more than corrupt the angels and Avacyn. Perhaps even Nahiri in the first place. Though if Emrakul can corrupt planeswalkers I'd say the team is pretty boned. Provided they don't leave this on a cliffhanger, I could see Sorin maybe sacrificing himself to destroy Emrakul. That would be kind of cool as redemption or whatever. Idk. As for Liliana's involvement; The veil is supposed to be the a vessel for the Resurrection of a long dead race right? Maybe that ties in somehow.

Jace's madness in Shadows over Innistrad demonstrated something could affect him. Whether it was the Eldritch Moon*, Nahiri, or some yet to be specified aspect of what's going on in Innistrad remains to be seen.
*Even though I'm sure that Emrakul is the "Eldritch Moon", I'm going to only refer to the yet unspecified horror (no matter how thinly veiled) threat as such in case Wizards does decide to pull a fast one on us.

Emrakul is the anomaly sensed by but not fully manifested in Innistrad. Which will become the case with Avacyn's departure now, I'm sure. I believe Avacyn's words will prove prophetic as well - Emrakul cannot be killed, so she will need to be sealed. Another Helvault, a section of silver from the moon, cannot be created. But the silver moon itself is still present. Planeswalkers are present, one of whom is a Gatewatch member. It's not unreasonable that Emrakul is sealed into Innistrad's silver moon. Or even that Nahiri will assist in doing it, even. Her revenge may not be to entirely destroy Innistrad, as she is still White and opposed to the Eldrazi destroying planes. Her revenge may be to change Innistrad and make Sorin feel the loss - by forcing him to end its guardian and his own daughter (evoking the loss of continents on Zendkiar) and finally sealing Emrakul there, which she lured away from her home - to forever haunt Sorin and the plane the way the Eldrazi always have on her own world, making them Sorin's problem now the way they were once hers.
I believe Avacyn's words will prove prophetic as well - Emrakul cannot be killed, so she will need to be sealed. Another Helvault, a section of silver from the moon, cannot be created.
This isn't exactly what Sorin said, he said he couldn't make another. I took that to mean he would need his oldwalker powers in order to make the trip.

That's my point. The silver moon itself is still present, which the Helvault originated from. But Sorin, no longer being an Oldwalker, cannot make another one.
Just now, MaRo let slip that Nahiri was trapped for a thousand years in the Helvault. I say "let slip", because he seems to have deleted the post quickly. But it's too late, because everyone knows.
Standard MaRo-answering-story-questions grain of salt aside, this is a big deal.

Okay. The way you worded it made it sound like the Helvault used up some irreplaceable magic or something.

I mean, it's the only answer that makes sense, and 1,000 years in the Helvault, followed by a quick jaunt home to find the Eldrazi released, COMPLETELY explains Nahiri.
I'm pretty sure that the "1000 years in the Helvault" was immediately after that one flashback, right after Avacyn was created, since the Helvault was created at the same time. She was angry before that happened.
I'm pretty sure that the "1000 years in the Helvault" was immediately after that one flashback, right after Avacyn was created, since the Helvault was created at the same time. She was angry before that happened.
She was angry, but not 'I'm going to destroy Innistrad' angry, more 'I'm going to smack some sense into you' angry.
I imagine, once the Helvault was destroyed, Nahiri first went home to find the Eldrazi had been released. When she learns they're running loose, she returns to Innistrad to exact vengeance and try to lure the Eldrazi away from Zendikar (unbeknownst to her, only Emrakul lives).
Being trapped in the helvault, aside from being the obvious direction creative was pointing towards given Sorin's flashbacks, also answers basically all the Nahiri questions.
How is she still alive this long after the mending? Presumably she didnt age while locked away. For her its essentially only been a year or so since she had a physical form TO age.
If she was alive then why wasn't she there to help keep the eldrazi imprisoned? Cause she was in the helvault.
Why is she so mad at Sorin? Cause he essentially betrayed her, sacrificed her plane, and then locked her in a cell with demons for a thousand years. (We know from I Am Avacyn that there is some level of awareness and interaction within the helvault. Avacyn felt the touch of demon wings.)
Why didn't she try fighting the eldrazi on Zendikar? Because it took the god-like power of three oldwalkers to trap them last time, and in her new depowered state what possible hope did she have of defeating/reimprisoning them on her own? (And from her perspective it would have been on her own. Ugin never answered the first call, there's no reason to assume he would or could answer if she called again. Sorin had already betrayed her. There wasn't a Gatewatch yet, or at least she wouldn't have known about them if there was.)

Here's my speculation:
1. Nahiri is not fully right in the head because she spent a thousand years in the Helvault... with Demons! The closest thing she could have ever had to decent company would have been Avacyn. But even without the Helvault, Nahari's past culminating with "Promises Old and New" implied that being the only immortal of Zendikar as well as guarding the Eldrazi by herself contributed to her the R streak she has now.
2. There's been talk of creating another Helvault for (allegedly) Emrakul. More likely, the entire moon is intended to serve as a prison for Emrakul. Nahiri is probably hoping the silver of Innistrad can hold Emrakul just as well as it held an oldwalker.
3. Nahiri is still on Innistrad. Seems given, but one thing to remember is that Nahiri spent two years jerry-rigging Innistrad. She could have left just before the Eldritch Moon's influence started appearing on Innistrad. And one curiosity is whether Sorin along with the other planeswalkers on Innistrad will be able to work with her to turn her from villain to anti-hero.

Well she would have had to stick around to make sure things worked out. She'd need to make sure the lure was working and possibly make adjustments. She'd need to make sure Avacyn was gone otherwise the lure working wouldn't have mattered. She'd want to make sure Sorin didn't figure it out and derail her plan. And given the idea that she's planning on trapping Emrakul, there's likely more steps she'll need to undertake after Em manifests.
The ghouls and cultists and what not could well simply be cannon fodder meant to slow Sorin down to buy her the time ahe needs.
Nahiri having been trapped in the Helvault does solve some problems.
Otherwise, for Eldritch Moon, we have plenty of characters and plot-threads to follow:
Liliana, the Chain-Veil, and Master Dierk
Our two trackers Halana and Alena and along with Arlinn Kord from the first chapter (if that is followed up at all)
Olivia's vampire army against the angels, and the potential inclusion of any other vampire lord/sire
Bruna and Gisela now with Avacyn gone, and Sigarda's valiant attempts to withstand them
Odric, Thalia, and the Order of Saint Traft
Gisa and Geralf's rivalry
I think Creative has done a nice job so far of setting up the story. However, with only 12 episodes/chapters per set, I wonder if two stories per set need to have multiple characters (like the final chapter of Oath) so we can put everything in perspective.

With Lily as the face of the block it seem reasonable to start the stories with whatever she is doing with Dierk.
Sadly it seems unlikely we will get significantly more on the trackers or Arlin.
Considering they were recruited by Sorin to fight Nahiri it seems obvious that they will fight her, whether or not that involves also fighting angles is unknown.
I expect The Order of Saint Traft to mix with Sigarda or we will get unsatisfying endings for both.
FInally it doesn't seem likely we will get significantly more on the Gisa/Geralf story-line.
I'm hoping we get a Nathaniel Hawthorne effect in that the first part of the story (Shadows over Innistrad) sets the stage, so that when things finally start to happen (in Eldritch Moon in this case), all the pieces will fit together nicely. Our build-up is broad and wide. Now the threads need to start coming together. Overall, I'm still pleased with Creative's development on this front compared to the disparate stories and clunky pacing in Battle for Zendikar and Oath of the Gatewatch. Positive directions!

What ever happened with the vampire army Sorin was amassing with the help of Olivia? I guess this conflict will resolve in eldritch moon. Does he plan to use that army to fight Nahiri?

He had to destroy Avacyn as the price for Olivia's help. I presume the army is now available to him.
I get that they need to be a bit more on the nose for the less enfranchised players, but damn I think they overdid it.
Anyway, I suppose that seals all speculation as to who's the big bad. I still wonder if the sea god will show up eventually. The mutations from the sea cults are different than the lattice work, and Nahiri seems to be behind the Drownyard Temple's construction. It could be that this particular thread is disconnected from Emrakul.

To be fair, I didn't even catch half that artwork myself. So someone who isn't looking for it? Really subtle in most cases.
"I'm not saying it's Emrakul, but if you read the Zendikar Art Book, you know it's Emraku."
For me, the most insightful part of article was the first set of clues - the warped and distorted environment. This seems to be a sign that Innistrad is starting to develop its own Roil as an allergic reaction to Emrakul, much like Zendikar.
I think otherwise, we noticed the other categories of clues he mentioned, if not the specific art. Some of those are really subtle. Hats off to the art department.

Can a plane develop a 'Roil'? I thought that was like the unique gimmick with zendikar like it was a plane with a soul or some jazz.
All planes have a soul. I think it's tied to the high mana density of Zendikar. Innistrad's version, if it were to form one, would likely be much more tame.
