Would be funny if Boals released the Eldrazi for ***** and goggles tough its implied that the Eldrazi are part of the ecosystem so what Bolas did was best for the multiverse?
What's curious is that we also get confirmation that they are meant to reset what is broken. When a world, when a Plane goes Wrong, they show up to reset everything before the Brokeness can spread. I suspect that New Phyrexia would have been high on their hit list had they been loose.
I'm not sure why people keep bringing up New Phyrexia. Phyrexia doesn't exactly break planes. On a cosmic scale, they're relatively mundane beings inhabiting a world. The plane has changed, but it's not broken, at least not as far as we can tell. The Eldrazi are not sympathetic to the inhabitants of a world. Just because a faction on a world eradicates all other life there, doesn't mean the Eldrazi will come and reset the plane. Whether the life on the plane is phyrexian or human or merfolk, the Eldrazi shouldn't care about such details.
Also, consider that New Phyrexia (or rather Mirrodin (or rather Argentum)) is an artificial plane. Maybe the Eldrazi will eat artificial planes regardless of whether they're broken or not, simply because they would most likely interfere with the leylines and natural flow of the blind eternities.
what happened with the hypnotoad I mean gitrog monster, I know its more a short story but its just a wee personal thing?
The art book has a minor note about all the "monsters" the cults have been worshipping (like the frog) were warped by Emrakul into eldrazi horrors, no long recognizable as a natural creatures.
I finally got my art book. Do you remember what section this is in?

This is something I've been thinking about ever since they dropped the idea that it was Sorin who lured that Eldrazi to Zendikar. What if the reason that they came to Zendikar wasn't all the mana but specifically because the leylines were being messed with? Same with Innistrad after Nahiri makes the cryptoliths. That would make Kozilek's purpose clearer, as the one who restructures the flow of magic on the plane.
Obviously any two points form a line but artificially messed up leylines seem to be the only unusual trait that Zendikar and Innistrad really shared when the Eldrazi arrived.

Yeah, but lured there by the leylines being messed up. Which I agree could be an/the indicator that a plane/world is damaged and needs to be reset.
I am sad to hear the fringe monsters were corrupted and thus probably die off. Was hoping they would leave more unique things untouched to explore in the future. Though by the time we come back there will probably be a new creative team which will retcon the retcons in their own way.

Right but an important part of the lure could be messing up the leyline.
Like setting fire to a building to send the fire department there.

You might want to check out the Eldrazi purpose thread in the speculation forum. We have tea and cookies.
Edit: Wait, I just realized you made that thread. I'm a dummy. Guess I'll have all the cookies for myself then.

Emrakul is called the Destroyer and the Creator in the last Eldritch Moon Uncharted Realms story. While I like the theory that Ulamog and Kozilek arrive first to tear a plane to its most basic components and then Emrakul shows up to put everything back together, I don't think it takes into consideration that she is also called the destroyer.

Actually, the title is "World-Ender" and it was the Chain Veil that called Emrakul that. Considering the Chain Veil consists of spirits and taking into account the Spirits' general resistance to Emrakul, I'm now suspecting they aren't completely immune to Emrakul (doubt St. Traft will actually survive directly thrown into Emrakul). They are resistant enough to provide a fight back if there are living beings for them to possess, something that shouldn't happen if Ulamog and Kozilek did their jobs right.
Considering how the Chain Veil seemed to know Emrakul quite well, they might have experienced it first-hand themselves. A world devoid of life after Ulamog and Kozilek passed by and when Emrakul entered the fray, they witnessed how it "ended the world itself and recreated it from scratch". It probably caused them much agony (for whatsoever reason) and is why they fear Emrakul so much.
Not after the article they were featured in, no. And we won't be getting any aftermath articles on Innistrad any time soon either, confirmed by Mark Rosewater, saying that they couldn't fit in enough story articles with all the different products they're releasing.
And it lists two of the remaining wolfir Johanna and Pavel. Both of which are said to have fought at the Battle of Thraben? Could it be that it was these two who led the wolfir and werewolves in that one UR where two white-furred werewolves were mentioned? I mean, silver and white is somewhat similar and depending on the point of view the narrator might have mistaken the wolfir for werewolves, especially in the midst of a battle. Am I reading too much into this or is this a very subtle tie-in to the art book?
If it is indeed a reference, then it raises the question who the stitcher was, who was also present. I doubt it was Geralf, since Gisa was nowhere to be seen, so it might have been Ludevic.

I would prefer more innistrad over conspiracy.
Although I would like a wrap up I'm kind of glad to be taking a break from the Gatewatch and Eldrazi stuff. Innistrad had some nice things but a lot that I wasn't as happy with, Fiora isn't quite as rough on me so far. Could change, but it seems like a nice change of pace.
So in his article today Maro talks about some of the behind the scenes and it implies that Emrakul would not have been killed in BfZ block and that SoI was gonna be a few blocks later but something forced them to move SoI to after BfZ.

Has it been stated what happened to Tovolar? He was always the most interesting of the original howlpack alphas to me, on the wiki it says the modronen was dissolved after Avacyn's return, but it doesn't say what happened to its' leader

That's why he said he would have preferred more Innistrad over Conspiracy. Not Gatewatch either. I wanted an article that showed us what happened to my favorite plane. Instead, wizards just ****ed the world over, then left it to rot because market research shows that if they try to tell discombobulated stories about everything and fail miserably in the process, they will sell more product!

I'm really hoping for at least an article with the Gatewatch still on Innistrad after Conspiracy 2 articles are done coming out. I imagine it could go something similar to the epilogue article that came out with Oath of the Gatewatch. Maybe give some closure to the story events and tie into the beginning of Kaladesh.
Give each of the PWs something to occupy their time with. Something like:
Gideon POV: Organizing rebuilding with Thalia and Sigarda.
Nissa POV: Returns to Zendikar to help with rebuilding. Perhaps runs into a shocked Kor Planeswalker who is surprised the Plane is still alive?
Jace POV: Looking into any effects from new Eldrazi moon? Maybe head back to Ravnica and be the Living Guildpact or something...
Liliana POV: Some sort of dialogue with either Olivia, Gisa/Geralf, or maybe all three? Maybe stumble across a certain Vampire Planeswalker trapped in the ruins of his ancestral home...
Chandra POV: I guess something has to trigger her to go to Kaladesh? Or something? I'm not sure how they'll do it, but I'm very excited to see what non-eldrazi adventures the Gatewatch can get caught up in.
At least that way we would have a little closure with some of the bigger characters on the Plane? And I'm kinda just resigned to Arlinn and Tamiyo not getting any more meaningful screen time for a while...
