The original Innistrad block was full of classic gothic horror references and it is clear that this iteration will be ripe with Lovecraftian references.
What stories of Lovecraft and hos contemporaries are people hoping to see in SOI?
I think the Nephalian sea god cult is heavily based off of Dagon and the story The Shadow over Innsmouth (also SOI), also potentially the Gitrog Toad.
I'd really like to see an equivalent of The Dunwich Horror, but a reference like that would pretty solidly require Emrakul in the story line.
They're not all going to be Lovecraft references but there are a few I've noticed:
Thing in the Ice is a reference to The Thing in name and concept, though not in form. Hound of the Farbogs is probably the Hound of the Baskervilles. Wayward Disciple is an Innsmouth reference. He joins the local cult, gains a bit of the "Innsmouth Look", and appears to be a fishermen given his jacket. Warped Landscape is probably meant to be a variation on Wanderer Above a Sea of Fog.
I'm sure the commons will fill out the set with specific horror references.
Yeah there's a lot of Lovecraft in this set, all of the ones Vorthospike put up for sure.
I would add:
Watcher in the Web for it's similarity to Lovecraft story names like the Watcher out of time Thraben Inspector for the strange fungal growths
and Just the Wind which to me really captures the sense of madness and initial unwillingness to believe that was present in a lot of Lovecraft's work

Just the Wind is, at least for me, a clear Yog-Sothoth reference (lots of eyes).
The Gitrog Toad is, as people already said, reminiscent of both Dagon and Tsathoggua (visually).
Brain in the Jar can be, with a grain of salt, seen as a posible Mi-Go reference.

Oddly I keep seeing it as a Lovecraft-ized homage to Little Red Riding Hood. The lower half of the eyes on the curtain take the shape of an enormous grinning wolf's head and the woman is wearing the cap I associate with LRRH's grandmother. Probably just, me though.
Can we expand this to just references in general? We had a thread like this for the original Innistrad, if anyone wants to dig it up and link it.
Thing in the Ice seems to be a reference to both Dark Depths and Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. Or Mountains of Madness, with a horror lurking frozen in the ice.
It's also more than a little like Cell from Dragonball-Z what with the progression to a "perfected" form. I doubt that was the main reference but I guarantee whoever came up with the name was thinking of Cell.
Thing in the Ice is a reference to The Thing in name and concept, though not in form.
Actually, it might just be so. It changes its creature type from Horror to Kraken, implying that it is not naturally a Kraken...
I argue that it isn't a Kraken because it's encased in ice. It's hard to identify what it is exactly when the thing is in an ice block. Moreover, the thing can't do Krakeny things while frozen.
For personal reason I have issues getting through Lovecraft but since SoI I've been looking into his work and just finished reading The Colour Out of Space and just realized it is what Cryptolith Fragment is based on. This also explains why Aurora of Emrakul is a reflection.

Ah, missed that completely.

Elder Deep-Fiend references the elder things and the deep ones.
In the art book their is a short story called the Ospid Horror that is a magic/eldrazi version of The Dunwich Horror.
