Earlier tonight, I was prompted by another thread to go back and check what exactly we knew about the Cursemute. I was somewhat shocked to see that archive.wizards.com is no more - at least for me, all links and search results for it redirect to the 404 error page on the main Magic site. And in addition to that site's many other woes, out-of-date Planeswalker's Guides there will show the first page, but the embedded links to subsequent pages are all broken - that's a vast majority of the lore for something like New Phyrexia or Innistrad.
The good news is, a bit of time spent with the Internet Wayback Machine has allowed me to dig up all the Planeswalker's Guides up through Tarkir (which, in fairness, is totally available on the current site, but this incident has left me paranoid). The bad news is, I have nowhere to host these things myself - I can't even seem to find a free wiki service anymore.
So, has someone else saved this lore already? If not, any ideas on where it could be saved - potentially along with other pieces of archived Magic tidbits? I've not been able to Wayback up, for example, the original Guild descriptions from the first Ravnica block, but if anyone has those, I think it'd be neat to go back and see them. There's bound to be lots of other odds and ends in the same category.
Thanks,
Planescrawler
P.S. Also, since I was out of the game at that time, I am unsure whether there ever was a "Planeswalker's Guide to Scars of Mirrodin". If so, I was unable to find it, so help on that would be greatly appreciated!
I believe Maro has stated that has something to do with old website problems. He also says they are trying to fix it, but who knows how long that will take. And if someone makes a database independent of Wizards, then that seems like a plus to me.
Trick has already stated on his twitter that they're aware of the problem and are fixing the redirects now. In the meantime, we have a wiki that summarizes most of that information. We don't need a place to host all of the files directly from Wizards. That's a copyright violation.
You mean they'll fix the problem like they fixed gatherer card discussion? I don't have high hopes that we'll see the archives fixed. Sorry, just bitter about how poor WotC is with anything online.

Fair enough. I was unclear on the copyright status of something like that, which was freely available to the public to begin with. I had thought it might be allowed if properly credited and not used for profit - clearly, I was mistaken.
For my personal use, however, I would appreciate it if anyone could PM me the old From The Library of Leng entries which got put up there. Those things were really cool, yet I cannot seem to dig them up now.
Yeah, rehosting someone else's content without permission is at best plagarism.
This is just a temporary outage anyway. You'll notice it's not just old lore content that's 404-ing right now; the Reserve List explanation is missing, event coverage is missing, etc. They're transitioning to a new website format and haven't gotten all the URLs redirected yet. Nothing to freak out over.
You can still find everything, the content is there, but it's just that the old links no long work. They're working on redirects but obviously that's a low priority. I'll be working on getting all the links updated in the resources thread and on the old archive trap articles.
Also - there is no Scars planes walker guide but there is one for New Phyrexia. It's all up in the resources thread.
