Don't get me wrong. I'm not opposed to male angles. Mostly I'm just indifferent. Same with female demons although considering the substantially less humanoid from that demons often take I think gender and sex for them are a lot less nailed down. Granted I am in the opposite side as above. I generally stand with Lili on angels and I'm generally never opposed to the over sexualized temptress demon.
Well it would make kind of sense if Nahiri and Avacyn are somewhat linked...Sorin may have modelled Avacyn after her...much like Ixidor Modeled Akroma in the image of her lost lover.
Actually, if I recall correctly, the Helvault looked odly like a Giant Hedron which was also used to seal stuff...mmm
He better not get corrupted or killed off-screen! Though I guess M13 legends Krenko and Yevra from Ravnica ended up playing no role in Return to Ravnica, so he too may be thrown into the dustbin... But I hope not. He is the man Innistrad deserves!
If they do forget he exists, then I hope we at least see other people mentioned in the old Guide. Cosper Lowe comes to mind, because he was described as the classically handsome Captain of the Silbern Guard in Stensia who is being stalked by a Vampire who loves him. How did that guy not get a card the first time around?
Hmmn, did Yeva ever feature in a UR? Because at least Krenko and Odric has, that could at least have some merit to a possible return for Odric in some capacity if ever.

Interesting parallel if ever to Ixidor - Akroma if ever that was indeed what it is. Altho Sorin still has an inkling with a "Lysene" character IIRC mentioned in a UR? Unless that is going to be retconned coming to SOI.
As for the Helvault and Giant Hedron link, the coincidence is interesting. Tho isn't the Helvault Silver? (And besides, it went kaput.... unless you know, it's fragments still had some power or something.)

First of all, sorry for the bad english, not my native language.
I actually don't belive that the Eldrazi are going to be in Innistrad.... Two continuos sets of cosmic horror??? It donsen't fit.
But if you read the Uncharted Realms, you can get another hint of what could happen.
In "Stirring from Slumber" , they tell us that Nahiri, the Lithomancer, leave Zendikar in serch of Sorin, to an unknow plane. This appens after she defeaded some Vampires that accidentally "release" some Eldrazi. In this story, Nahiri is surprise about the vampires, because "There are no Vampires in Zendikar".
Later, in "Sorin's Restoration" , when Ugin ask Sorin about Nahiri, he can't answer:
"The notion of shame had long since evaporated from Sorin. Over the millennia, Sorin's human frailties and neurosis had grown, blossomed, and withered away—he was as immune to regret as he was to old age. And yet, for the first time in years, an uncomfortable feeling grew within him, an unpleasant itch, the sense that he was responsible—solely—for something important going awry. It wasn't remorse exactly, just a dull, discordant echo ringing in the space where remorse had once resided.
"She is—not here," said Sorin, to no particular patch of air."
Finally, in "The Lunarch's Journal" we learn that the angel Avacyn is a creation of Sorin, in order to preserve the balance in Innistrad. This history also tell us that the Vampires of Innistrad were born from the blood of the angel Marycz (name intentionally similar to the name of Avacyn, to make the reader belive that Avacyn is Marycz).
Just as you say, what I belive is that Sorin created the Vampires in Zendikar, maybe trying to figure out a way to preserve the balance in Innistrad, so when Nahiri went to searh him, he was "scared" beliving that she would attack him for the Vampires in her plane, so insted he attaked her and use the Lithomancer's body as the "base component" to create Avacyn (they're actually quite similar, at least physically).
Son now, Sorin has to chose. Save the Multiverse and destroying his homeland, or preserve the balance of Innistrad????

Come to think of it I'm not sure she did... Odric, Krenko and Talrand all did but I can't remember the other two. And also I take back my previous claim, Krenko actually has been mentioned in Ravnica-based stories since his debut, he's in a Goblin mob war that Gideon has been dealing with. Which is good news for Odric! Odric 2.0 for Shadows Over Innistrad!
Please don't send Gideon to Innistrad. We've had enough surralism for one block. Besides it's looking like Jace will be the one left out cardwise in OGW so he and Lili should be in the next block.
Plus it relates to Ugin and Jace talking;
...Have you heard of a Planeswalker named Sorin Markov?"
"No," said Jace. "Should I have?"
"Only because of his connection to this place," said Ugin. "He is my erstwhile ally, self-proclaimed lord of his home plane of Innistrad."
One of Liliana's favorite haunts, though Jace had never been there.
"That I've heard of," said Jace. "You could say I have an ally there myself."
You'd be kidding yourself, he thought, but you could say that.
"Good," said Ugin. "Sorin is crucial to our efforts. If you want to help, then seek him out, bring him here, but . . . do not trust him."
Which is a nice thread creative did to tie us to the next set.
Jace just "offended" Liliana, which means whatever he puts into the bargaining with Liliana to bring him to Innistrad (because he's certainly not asking Bolas) would most likely involve requiring to deal with the other two demons whose names I've already forgotten.
It's possible something crops up that has Liliana's interest, but as of now, Liliana has very little interest on the plane itself - so basically she doesn't want to waste more time and I'm sure time is something Jace needs to find Sorin (doubt he'll just planeswalk right in front of Sorin coincidentally). So we need someone who has a lot of time to tag along. Gideon's just more likely to do so than Nissa & Kiora due to his nature.

Son now, Sorin has to chose. Save the Multiverse and destroying his homeland, or preserve the balance of Innistrad????
As it was mentioned the previous page, if Sorin used Nahiri to create Avacyn, that would mean Innistrad lasted thousands of years after the creation of Vampires without her protection, which seems unlikely. Plus, Ugin says that Sorin had already created measures to protect Innistrad before sealing the Eldrazi, and the only measures of protection that we know he has made are Avacyn and the Helvault (and we know the Helvault came after Avacyn).
Plus, the Zendikari vampires seem very unrelated to anything we know about Avacyn. If they are a creation or experiment of Sorin, it seems likely that they were related to some different attempt at fixing Innistrad (maybe making a cure). And then, it is possible a fight ensued between both, and Sorin was forced to inprison Nahiri someway somewhere, but it seems very difficult chronologically that the prison was turning her into Avacyn.
About the Eldrazi/Kozilek in Innistrad theory specifically:
I don't see them putting Eldrazi on Innistrad. ...At least in terms of actual Eldrazi mechanics or cards.
As for creative though... I won't be surprised at all if they not only end up pushing an Eldrazi/Kozilek connection/reason for going to Innistrad next, but then also include that in the marketing more overtly and clearly as well. (Especially for the trailers probably)
That seems to be in line with their recent ramping up on creative and wanting the story to feel more singular and central. And I think that would help quite a bit with that actually.
At least I hope that's the case. No actual Eldrazi cards on Innistrad for me, please. Legendary werewolf. Far higher priority. Ha
The picture for the "Announcing Shadows over Innistrad" in today's Arcana seems to confirm Jace, and not Liliana, will be the main character, though of course she can still play a secondary role.
I also noticed that, but who is the woman behind him? Nahiri? Avycen? a Banshee?

It is new art, I think it is safe to assume it is for SOI.
Jace is certainly involved as ONE of the main characters for the block, but not the only one. And he's wearing something besides his standard pajamas-and-cloak getup for the first time since he left Vryn, apparently. I think it's a good look for him.
Behind him is an image of a female face outlined by birds. It's not obviously apparent who she is from what we see here, but the presence of the birds, which are dark-feathered and likely ravens or crows, suggests that it is meant to be Liliana, who would also be one of the few reasons Jace would have to show up on Innistrad in the first place. I'm continuing to assume that Liliana is here for reasons relating to the Raven Man, and Jace follows her there once the situation on Zendikar has been stabilized. He may be looking into Sorin as well, if he gets clued into his situation by Ugin, but considering the UR story of his reunion with Liliana I would be shocked if they didn't follow up on the two of them together.

I would assume he's put on a coat from the locals because of Innistrad's chilly wheather.

But on the bottom you can see an angel and on the left one of Avacyn's Collar. That together with the face's dark lips and eyes leads me to believe it's actually Avacyn's face, instead of Liliana.
That together with the angel's feather in the trailer becoming bloody and warping the stony Collar of Avacyn leads me to believe that something is corrupting the angels on Innistrad. I expect Jace to come to Innistrad to find Liliana and/or Sorin and then gets entangled in whatever plot is happening right now on the plane.
You may be right, I see now that the figure below the face is an angel, at first look I only saw it as another bird.
A dark, corrupted Avacyn is not at all unexpected of a plot twist, given what we know of her origins, her role (a force of balance, not necessarily only on the side of humanity), and the fact that the expansion symbol is an inversion of her collar.
I would expect demonic influence and/or the effects of the Chain Veil to be the culprit behind her corruption, if that is what's happening here, rather than Eldrazi. Innistrad was never about Lovecraftian horror, it is Gothic to the core.
He also has no motive for releasing the Eldrazi, but since he's Bolas, Creative can go "it's part of some greater plan of his [that we haven't figured out yet]."
I've followed mtg story since the Weathelight.
I've read all of the books and comics.
I am quite passionate about mtg lore.
I've also had another account here but forgot its pass and made a new one
But this is the final straw for me. I am sick and tired of WotC pushing Jace down my throat. I don't care
that he is not ''the only walker in the set''. Pushing Jace down our throats ever since RTR has become
annoying, obnoxious and irritating. ''We made him an OP card so that must mean that people now love this
character more than any other and we should put him wherever we can like we did with Urza.'' yes, but
the difference is that Urza was actually well written and interesting.
just like the pre zednikar UR when Gideon and Liliana met him on Ravnica.
''Jace, we are two stupidly powerful planeswalkers, but we need your help. You are obviously the most
capable and intelligent being in the multiverse and we need your help because we are not worthy of
doing stuff on our own and because we are not capable of solving anything without you.'' Yea, of course -.-''
Or on Zendikar where Jace basiaclly makes fun of Ugin and tells him how his plans are dumb and flawed. You
can say ''Jace does not know better'' but seriously, how many of you truly believe that Jace's plan will not
work and that Ulamog will not be killed or sealed because Jace came up with a plan to do it?
Or how about RTR which clearly showed us that Niv Mizzet is nowhere near Jace's level of intellect and that
Jace solved the location and the puzzle of the Dragon's Maze and is the ONLY ONE who figured out what to do.
It is that time again. Time to hibernate for another decade or two and then give mtg lore a shot once more.
Off to read books from the era when lore was actually good.
I don't get why people keep saying that Jace is being used too much. He was an active player in Zendikar (and it's return) and Ravnica. That's it. What other times has he showed up? Origins and M15? I'll admit that the stories he's in may be a bit too close, but then again, Elspeth's stories had about the same length of time in between.
Gideon and Liliana both needed a planeswalker to help them. Gideon was going to take any help he could get, and Jace happened to be the first one he found. Liliana needed (wanted) help with her demon problem, and seeing as how Jace is really the only walker that would even consider helping her, she went to Jace.
I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that Jace was making fun of Ugin. He was cocky, and tried proving his point, but at no point did I see him saying that Ugin's arguments were "dumb and flawed".
Not to mention that we don't even know if Jace is really the main character of SOI yet.
It's fine if you don't like Jace, but don't say that he's worse than he is, and certainly don't say that the lore as a whole is completely ruined because of it.

Don't worry, that's why I'm here. I'll help you "get it".
Jace has been featured non-stop in lore since Return to Ravnica in 2012. When Ravnica ended, he just so happened to intrude into Garruk's M15 story. When that ended, he ends up a central figure in Magic Origins. Now he's in BFZ and when that ends he'll be in Innistrad.
Not to mention that he's the face of pretty much every non-card Magic product out there and has received 5 novels, whereas most other walkers are lucky to be tangential characters in 1.
Jace absolutely shows up more than every other character, and the narrative will bend over backwards to find ways to include him ("Hey, this is a PUZZLE *nudge nudge wink wink* of Leylines. Better go find someone that's good at PUZZLES *nudge nudge wink wink*.").
