Playing through the campaign on Magic Duels, Tamiyo is 100% alive and not an a delusion. Jace meets her in the great cathedral in Thraben, where they are confronted by Avacyn and the event on Avacyn's Judgment occurs. Also confirmation that Tamiyo is experiencing the madness and delirium afflicting Jace in his own investigations. Tamiyo also has a new mugshot that appears with Jace, and his deck (previously a kind of mono-blue madness flyer deck) takes on white and green. Take that as you will. Could just be them making that Bant clues deck that suits the pair. The game just ends on the scene of Avacyn's Judgment with nothing else told, literally a cliffhanger. Not necessarily how the Uncharted Realms ends for SOI since it's pretty abrupt. It doesn't even get to Anguished Unmaking.
The long and short of it is pretty much nothing we don't know about yet.
Huh I must have missed the reference to Tamiyo's madness in the story (tbh I had to read it in a rush before my class started).
Huh I would have bet money Tamiyo won't appear as a card, but the new pic supports it, unless it ends up just being a spell in EMN.
They do sometimes have new art for player avatars for Magic Duels so it's not really indicative of anything. It looks like that kind of art to me too and not from a walker. That doesn't rule her out but AI don't it's necessarily more or less likely. I thought it was interesting he picked up all 3 Investigation colors.
It's said in the first Avacyn scenario that the mad influence of Avacyn washss over them. Presumably as per the tropes, probably anyone who gets too in to deep is affected.

You seem to have missed the 6th encounter (which only appears after you complete the 5th), in which you play as Sorin and fight Avacyn. It concludes with Sorin destroying her.
"With Avacyn's destruction, the last of Sorin's magical protection woven over Innistrad is broken"
Now that sounds like the whole enchantment system of Innistrad didn't simply turned off, but actually disappeared and disproves the theories that some other angel(Sigarda for one) can take Avacyn's place. Also it sounds ominous that it says specifically "over Innistrad" which implies that it protected the plane from external threats too but now the defenses have fallen. English is not my native so maybe i am looking too much into it and it's just a normal phrase to use here though.
Avacyn has a key point in the grand scheme of things so her existence should be important enough instead of been just an obstacle.Heer death might be the trigger for the horror to arrive to Innistrad
IDK why I didn't want it to be emrakul. I mean, a lot of cool stuff is going on right now and it would just make me disappointed to see just another eldrazi titan. I think it'd be fine though as long as we don't get a crappy amount of "devoid" spells

The problem for Innistrad is that all of that magical protection that Sorin wove over Innistrad was very likely done when he was still an Oldwalker. He would almost certainly not be capable of such feats nowadays, so he's probably really worried about his home plane now.
...Which may serve as a convenient impetus for him to join the Gatewatch ("For the sake of Innistrad and all other horror-themed planes, I will keep watch.")
Yeah Sorin might join the gatewatch just to have people to help his plane in need.Black aligned characters are selfish, not stupid they know that the best way to benefit them soemtimes requires aid from other people

I noticed that wording too. I didn't think too much into it since the wording on these games is kind of fast and loose. But I wouldn't be surprised if Avacyn being killed removes some sort of barrier to entry for Emrakul or whatever else. It would be good set up for Eldritch Moon actually. Kind of like how BFZ ended with Ulamog in the hedron network.

For some reason this made me imagine them as Pinky and the Brain instead.
Tamiyo: "Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Jace?"

Although a tag team could be an interesting design. Like Arlinn but with a different person on each side. The art would be the same image but from opposite perspectives.

I was thinking it'd be awesome to have Gisa/Geralf or Geralf/Ludevic card like this but I realized as cool as it probably looks to see on actual cards (imagine the art of them back to back and flipping them... Ahhh !!) and it working mechanically, that kind of transformation doesn't really make much sense flavorwise for transform cards since it's usually supposed to depict two sides of the same person or thing whereas this would be two totally different people or planeswalkers. But that's such a small tiff that I hope they don't care and do this eventually because that would be insanely cool.

No spoilers in the Fat Pack brochure this time, except of some clarification.
1) Madness of Avacyn (been there)
2) Mystery of Markov Manor (been there)
3) Epiphany at the Drownyard - there is literally written that zombies were building something that looked like an eldritch temple dedicated to some god of the sea.
4) Jace Confronts Avacyn - Jace goes to Thraben Cathedral and finds it similarly distorted as Markov Manor. He meets Tamiyo here. As the two walkers agree to join forces, Avacyn bursts through the window and unleashes her angelic fury on them. Tamiyo falls to the ground and Jace is thrown to his back with Avacyn just about to impale him.
5) Sorin Unmakes Avacyn - Just as Avacyn is about to kill Jace, Sorin arrives. He enlisted other vampires to battle Nahiri and reclaim Markov Manor. Sorin and Avacyn fight and they end up in the Vault of the Archangel, the place of her creation. Here, Sorin unmakes her and erases her from the world.
Avacyn is gone and Jace tries to convince Sorin to come back to Zendikar with him and help the Gatewatch to deal with Emrakul (this is the only place this name appears).
But Sorin suddenly realized what Nahiri had been doing, and that he had played right into her plan... THE STORY CONTINUES IN ELDRITCH MOON.
There is:
- no mention of the lattice mutations.
- no explanation of Nahiri's longevity - only that the gravity-defying patterns she rearranged Markov Manor into are her doing.
- no mention of Jace-Liliana meeting.

Damn. I had hoped Jace and Tamiyo would have solved the puzzle before Sorin's encounter with Avacyn - and that Anguished Unmaking would be the Allied Hedron Network of this set: where we think we see the ending, but it isn't quite that. And when Sorin went to erase Avacyn, Tamiyo and Jace warn him of Nahriri's plan, so that he spares her instead and seeks to destroy whatever was driving Avacyn mad, rather than ending her. But it looks like he erases her, and it's too late. DAMN that's tragic and unfortunate, for him, for Innistrad, and for fellow Avacyn fans like me. I'm a bit emotional over it. Avacyn Restored was my first pre-release and was such a positive ending for a MTG story. I really celebrated her release and loved that set, Innistrad, and that time - making Avacyn one of my favorite characters. Can't believe returning to the world I started with meant losing her forever
Presumably its Emrakul's corruption of biology that drives the angels to kill all things that harbor the mutations. So if Avacyn attacked Jace and Tamiyo, does that make them affected? Jace is going mad, after all. Kiora demonstrated some immunity to Kozilek's warping field. Does the spark confer immunity to Emrakul's mutations?
So destroying getting Sorin to destroy Avacyn was part of Nahiri's plan? Interesting.
I mean wiping out a plane's protector seems like an obvious first step in any kind of major scheme but I wonder what tips Sorin off to it being part of her plan.
I'm kinda hyped for the details and dialogue in the fight between Sorin and Avacyn. I hope the writers does it justice. Jace better be carefull with his words when adressing Sorin after he was forced to kill his daughter. I would lend Sorin help first in Innistard instead of asking him for help in another place.

There is absolutely nothing about any of these. There are articles about the provinces, races and the situation there.
Basically: the madness is gripping angels, humans and monsters alike.
The Church - The Lunarch Council believes the human sins were what turned Avacyn against men, and decided to purge these who they consider sinful, to appease the angels.
Gavony basically consist of walled towns like Hanweir.
Vampires - the madness amplifies their primary characteristics - passion, decadence, cruelty, (blood)lust. Some overfeed themselves and became bloated like ticks. Some try to feed on nonhumans (including other vampires) and some even belive they are human and feed on human food - but thanks to the nature of the curse, they wither and die. Curiously, no mention of the Falkenrath going bat**t insane.
Nephalia - here the merchants are trying to live their daily lives, and they manage it almost like before. The Elgaud Grounds, former cathar training centre, are here and become a bloody slaughterhouse for those dragged here by the Inquisition.
Kessig was always different, and remains like that. The might of the Church and angels was always weaker here, and many rely on other means of protection. As such, these lands are relatively less touched by the angelic purge.

It feels like I'd still like some clarifications-- my brain thinks that the idea is that Nahiri is funneling mana for summoning something she knew that disrupting the flow of mana on the plane would interfere with the angels as beings of mana, which would simultaneously cause someone like Sorin to come and get rid of Avacyn and therefore whatever safeguards that may have been preventing the eldritch moon from exerting its total influence? That flows correctly but it feels weird that the mana directed with the cryptoltihs also conveniently messed u pAvacyn which conveniently would cause people to want her gone which would conveniently allow the eldritch moon to do its thing.
I wonder who is making the temple though. It's probably not actually Liliana, so that leaves what, the Skirsdag/whoever the Gorton's fisherman cultists are? For some reason they never struck me as people who used zombies. Not for any particular reason I suppose. If you have a hgue building project zombies are probably the perfect thing to use. I suppose maybe Nahiri is manipulating them in a twisted, ironic parody of what happened on Zendikar over time, and she's using them to perform cryptolith rites to generate mana for the eldritch moon?

I don't think the cryptoliths messed up Avacyn directly. I suspect they funneled the plane's mana into a mana beam that shot out from the Drownyard into the multiverse as a beacon to attract Emrakul there. When Emrakul arrived, she immediately began to alter Innistrad's gravity, and biology. Her mutation capabilities lead to the fouling of living beings - something the angels interpreted as an aberration of nature, and a threat to stability because it's literally a threat to convert people into Eldazi spawn, and white is all about order and stability. What recourse do angels have, but to purge the subject of Emrakul's corruption? Without biology, she cannot twist anything or create spawn, presumably. There is also a madness factor, of course.
The zombies exist in the Drownyard because it's a drownyard. Whether they're actually constructing the Temple there or not is debatable. Jace could easily have perceived zombies (or sailor corpses) floating around motionless there as building it, out of his own madness. Much of what he did see there was madness, illusion, and he arrived at the wrong conclusion all the same by suspecting Lilliana. The guy was even talking to a journal. Take his perceptions with a grain of salt, I say.

It says plainly in the most recent story that the crpyoliths are disrupting the flow of mana on the plane which has adverse affects on mana beings like Innistrad's angel and is presumed to be an aspect of Avacyn's madness.
Quote from The Drownyard Temple »
The strength of the internal lodestone field in each monolith is able to distort local field lines and poles. Over time, we have received more reports of these formations, causing a net migration of our poles to a location just offshore. The disruptive properties of the stones appear to also extend to an ability to warp the flow of mana through the region, with potentially severe effects for beings composed of raw mana—particularly the angels of the plane. Perhaps there's more to Avacyn's madness...
The story itself also didn't seem to very heavily imply the zombies were building the temple outright... I had the same impression as you, that there were just zombies there because it's Nephalia and there's zombies there. But its actually other sources confirming that the zombies are there actively building the Drownyard Temple. And that kind of makes the accusation in the story make a lot more sense too. I just didn't get the strong impression that the zombies were doing anything in the story because of all the focus on Jace's delirium.

Yeah but these summaries have proven to be wacky before, as with BFZ and the artbook, Fatpack, etc. These are for people that don't need the lore. Without details, one might think "why is Lilliana suspected by Jace, then?" So the summary might just say it's what happened, even when the intricacies of the UR might suggest it was a delusion Jace percieved, and not literally what happened. I mean we were told everything grew back on Zendikar and all was well, but we know the plane is recovering, and Nissa is there planting and healing it slowly. We were told Kiora matched Thassa in battle, when we know she got royally wrecked. She didn't leave Zendikar in despair either.

But the people behind the barrier knew.
But the people behind the barrier knew.

She seems way to interested in the unnatural for Green's more conservative side. Maybe she'll be like the Simic but less dangerously insane?
For some reason this made me imagine them as Pinky and the Brain instead.
Tamiyo: "Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Jace?"
Jace: "I think so, Tamiyo, but if the Heron Moon is made of green cheese then where does moonsilver come from? NARF!"
lmao, I can see this happening

I was really hoping we'd get "double team planeswalkers" in BFZ since it seemed like the perfect set up for it.
But the people behind the barrier knew.
*inappropriate double team joke*
But the people behind the barrier knew.
There is:
- no mention of the lattice mutations.
- no explanation of Nahiri's longevity - only that the gravity-defying patterns she rearranged Markov Manor into are her doing.
- no mention of Jace-Liliana meeting.

Can't wait to hear the end of this story, good or bad.
