This makes me question Innistrad come Eldritch Moon, IIRC it was through Avacyn that the wards are being empowered (and not through the Angels as a whole), with her TOTALLY gone, will the plane descend to a more sinister condition than Dark Ascension?
Absolutely this. The deep hole the humans were in at the start of original Innistrad was due to Avacyn's disappearance. How much worse would her actual death be? Their entire system of protection will be gone, kaput, finito. Hope Sorin had a Plan B...
So how long it will take for this to decision to bite them in ass? I mean this just scream for something to go horribly wrong (say zombie infestation or you know the angels attacking) and since there apparently are no doors there is no escaping.
Building a wall with no doors around your entire province is so insane that I suspect something is already very wrong in Hanweir.
I feel the writers may have pushed the grimdark too far and brought it back around to comedy.
I presume those are Nephalian Seadrakes flying round the cryptolith circle on Epiphany at the Drownyard? They and the shipwreck give the circle a sense of scale that suggests whatever comes up from the depths will be huge.
In other news: yay! Looks like Sigarda is a goodie, and whatever's all kicking off has been enough to put Olivia on an angry war-footing. Interesting that her stone in that pic was called 'Garnet of Unbridled Rage'. So far, the Falkenraths, Markovs and Voldarens are neatly following the stones' epithets.
"Terror falls from the skies on blood-spattered wings, and nameless horrors lurk in the shadows. These pages, lavishly illustrated with the award-winning art of Magic: The Gathering, are your entry into a world beset by terrible evils on all sides and betrayed by the hope it held most dear. Tread lightly as you follow the heroic Planeswalkers of the Gatewatch as they investigate these dark mysteries, for the nightmare they will uncover is a threat to the whole Multiverse."
It did, but that could also be Nahiri, despite her vendetta. I mean, a terrorist cell might just be using one bomb on Innistrad, but they could have more bombs for other planes, if you know what I mean.
Well, you might be technically correct but I somehow doubt that Nahiri, the Harbinger can really be thought of as a "nightmare" (she's not that scary!), or something that threatens the "whole multiverse" (that's a lot of planes!), nor something that really requires much "uncovering" (she's being pretty in-your-face about it!). Hell, you'd be more correct in saying that we went to Theros and "uncovered a nightmare that is a threat to the whole Multiverse" in Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver and Xenagos, God of Revels, both of whom are significantly scarier than Nahiri and possibly stronger to boot.
She alone isn't scary, but what if it's just one part of something bigger, like a "bad" Consortium, or that she's been working with Bolas. If those were the case, it would explain how it is a wider threat than any single walker, and why it would need to be uncovered.

Fair point. If it turns out Nahiri is acting on behalf of somebody / something else than you're right, as long as that entity is scary, able to operate across many planes, and is not out in the open.
So how long it will take for this to decision to bite them in ass? I mean this just scream for something to go horribly wrong (say zombie infestation or you know the angels attacking) and since there apparently are no doors there is no escaping.

I feel the writers may have pushed the grimdark too far and brought it back around to comedy.
Except, they also praise the barricades that the wall has on its doors. So this thing is either warping perception, or someone made a typo, and no one caught it.
Additionally, if this was made with the help of Sigarda, who we've seen as pretty decent both in card and story, then it might be a little more understandable.
So, I was reading the recent 'Pitiless Gaze' story and I noticed a lot of references to 'buzzing inside her head', a 'strange buzz to her voice', etc etc..
Then I remembered that picture from the Mothership, the one with the guy staring in the mirror and that freaky-looking bug attached to his back. I can't find it now--I'm sure someone here has it handy.
So...
I started thinking "Bugs on Innistrad?..hmmm..." I went and searched and I found:
So, maybe these things are somehow much more important this time around? Are they one-in-the same? Maybe a new, corruptedweaponized version or something?
You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
So how long it will take for this to decision to bite them in ass? I mean this just scream for something to go horribly wrong (say zombie infestation or you know the angels attacking) and since there apparently are no doors there is no escaping.

Still stupid, but understandable.
Maybe the wall isn't to keep the Angels out, but the inquisition ground forces and ground based monsters, specifically the werewolves who frequent the area, as they can no longer rely on the wards.

Onering's 4 simple steps that let you solve any problem with Magic's gameplay
Whether its blue players countering your spells, red players burning you out, or combo, if you have a problem with an aspect of Magic's gameplay, you can fix it!
Step 1: Identify the problem. What aspect of Magic don't you like? Step 2: Find out how others deal with the problem. How do players deal with this aspect of the game when they run into it? Step 3: Do what those players do. Step 4: No more problem. Bonus: You are now better at Magic. Enjoy those extra wins!
Spectulated Runo Stromkirk was just a random Olivia underling. So sad. And what is up with all these vampire arts that are good up close and terrible on the cards?
Well, at least Sorin is properly pissed off.

Olivia seems to be preparing for war against the angels, and the werewolves under Arlin seem to be cognizant of the dire situation of humanity as well.
Avacyn's purpose was to maintain a healthy human population not just for the sake humanity but for every inhabitant of Innistrad. Maintaining the balance keeps the world from degrading into a Grixis-esque hell.
It is starting to look like Innistrad's monsters may become humanity's saviours from the angels.
What if the post-Avacyn era on Innistrad is marked by an open understanding between the humans and night creatures that for the benefit of all, there must be balance. Sort of like the Guildpact. The humans understand that they must sacrifice a certain number of their populace at regular intervals. And the vampires and other creatures learn to ration their food supply, a bottom-up solution rather than the top-down solution that Sorin imposed.
Is there any proof that Iona was killed? The Wiki doesn't have anything on it.
Also, Feather survived Ravnica 1 and Ravnica 2: Jace and Emmara's happy time adventure.
Iona and Feather are currently on "Magic Lore Limbo" (together with some other Neowalkers). It's as good as dead/waiting for a death sentence minus the sting of actual on-screen death. With Feather being dangerously on the brink.
Iona funnily enough didn't even have that large of a presence back in the Zendikar revisit blocks. Which is funny, you'd think she would join the battle for Zendikar being with the Avengerwalkers and all.
Or I guess Magic higher ups wanted her to continue be depressed about being useless against the Eldrazi.
And what is up with all these vampire arts that are good up close and terrible on the cards?
Well, at least Sorin is properly pissed off.
It's not like this is a rare occurence with Magic art, there have been lots of cases where amazing arts have been used for rather lackluster cards. (Can't name specifics right now, but I do remember there are lots)

I think Ashiok means the actual art. Olivia and her Bloodsworn have great headshots but the full art isn't nearly so great.

You don't use walls, silly. To fight monsters you need monsters of your own.

"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
For these so called angel fans they get alot of thing wrong...
My theory on this is the the cryptoliths tap into the moon's power and syphon it to
a. corrupt angels and generally make stuff worse
b. summon a big baddy (emrakul, marit lage, or that sea-god peeps have been talking about)
c. unlock the moon which was a sort of cage for some big baddy.
Just my take

Is it Batman? Because, I mean, they have a Blue Beetle already. And he's not doing much good for anyone.
Emrakul!
So likely what the article was referring to, was that what was there was fortified, built up, and sealed off.
