Part III is up! Please note that this was written before this week's UR (all three articles were written as one big article in late August/early September and had some slight revisions prior to each one posting), and I've been trying to avoid using BFZ information since it's still coming out. I'll have a follow-up post about BFZ after the story has concluded.
For now, the next article is in-development and is going to be about Dack Fayden. Does anyone have any preferences for future articles?
Does anyone have any preferences for future articles?
I'm not sure if recapping the story is part of the archive trap column, but I'm going to assume so because of the BFZ related articles. So what I kind of would like to see is a rundown and summary of the pre-Odyssey story, basically the weatherlight saga. I follow the story closely, so I know the general gist and even some details, but I have never read the books, and there are some dark patches for me. I realize that this would be a really huge thing, so I would guess it'd be more like multiple different articles released over the course of a longer time, every now and then between the "regular articles", but I think it would also be a very good place to point new people to who want to know about the old lore. The wiki is not only dry , but also very scattered and it's hard to read things in chronological order, unless you keep jumping around between articles.

That's fine by me. Most like the story won't be nearly as detailed as I did for say, Zendikar, but if it's old lore people want I can try to tackle that in the future.
I've been meaning to read a lot of the old books anyway.
In Part II, for purposes of clarity, I don't know if you need the line about vampires originally being included then edited out: since it is now not to be found in the original short story, mentioning it only muddles the waters for new readers.
Nahiri warned the world, which in the original version included vampires, something a later version would remove, so officially no vampires existed at this time, and the preparations were finalized.
As for the Weatherlight Saga, VestDan wrote wonderful pieces on it a decade ago: Remember the Weatherlight, Part 1: Come Sail Away. Not that we couldn't review it again, but I thought I'd bring that piece forward.
And a note on Sorin's song-magic: I did include that in my Innistrad fiction, if anyone doesn't mind my shameless self-promoting (see my signature for link to my short story).

Thanks for the heads up! I want to review the Weatherlight saga myself, as I wasn't into the story when I was playing back then (I only got into the story around the Mending). It doesn't look like Vest Dan has posted in the last 5 years though, I'd love to get his permission to post it as an article on the new site.
I left in the vampire piece because I did want people to be aware of retcons, especially as the story I was summarizing was published 5 years after most of the story in that article.
Part 2 of Dack Fayden went up earlier this month. The next one will be up sometime in December. It's almost finished, but I need to re-read Agents of Artifice to end it.
This was meant to be a monthly thing, but the first one came out so long, by the time the last Zendikar article was published I was already done Dack Fayden's, too.
Yeah, I've already read the part two for Dack. I knew virtually nothing of Dack, so the excitment around him when Conspiracy came out was strange for me. Can't wait for the next one!

New one is complete. Sorry for the delay, my son was born last week and I've been a little busy!
Thankfully sleepless nights = writing time!
New one should post soonish, can't give a definite date but sometime later this month. It's all about Liliana and Garruk.
I'm looking to do 'The World of' Innistrad or Fiora next. Any preferences? They're both pretty light, which is to give me time for the two I'll spend a lot more time on: Phyrexia and Ravnica.
Phyrexia might end up being longer than the Zendikar articles. I want to at least somewhat cover everything from The Thran to New Phyrexia. I'm only about a third of the way through the Brother's War right now ... so maybe this time next year it'll be ready, lol. I've really slacked on my pre-mending lore, and my reading time in the near future will be devoted to catching up.
Also, I'll do a 'World of Zendikar, Part IV' once OGW's story ends. Since BFZ only took us halfway through the story arc, there really isn't much content for me to do a new one yet.
Thank you so much for doing this. It's an awesome resource.
In particular, the Dack Fayden recap. I'd been ignoring those concepts, and something about the name and art always led me to assume Dack was both a Jace-analogue and a giant douchebag... but this proves me wrong so entirely, now I'll have to track down the comic! If anything, he seems to be better at being Jace than Jace is, and with more interesting hooks and pacing on top of it.

Yes, finish Zendikar first, while the story is happening there, before depart to another plane. I'd want to add the world of Lorwyn to the queue.
Legendary: 1088 / 1208.
Planeswalkers: 182 / 226.
