So in the flavor text (Benthic Giant, Cloaked Siren) we heard about Callaphe, and in Godsend she is a Theros myth that Kiora appropriates to trick her way into finding Cappahe's own ship the Monsoon. According to the myth Callaphe faces off against Thassa and eventually sails into Nyx, but since the Monsoon was found sunk in the Siren's Shipyard, the myth may have been mutated and incorrect after all.
Since even Thassa acknowledges in Godsend that there was a Callaphe, what actually became of her? Did she actually drown on the art of the card Thassa's Ire?
I'd say everything points to her being spun into myth.
That is to say, on Theros stories become mythic pretty quickly. Word of her tales has spread and the imaginations of the Therans have been captured by her. If you take the "sail into Nyx" part on the cheek, it could be that she's now one of the constellations in the sky, a la Polukranos was.

Haha. I figured the myth became less accurate with frequent re-tellings over time so that the original core of the myth - that there was a legendary mariner named Callaphe who challenged Thassa at the edge of the world - was true, but the details about how that match went down was lost after several iterations of the tale. Nikka evidently points out the Monsoon's constellation in Nyx, but we later learn that it was actually sunk. So there's no telling if Callaphe ever did make it to Nyx or if she drowned (Thassa sent sirens to ruin her sails in one myth, and in another Callaphe stole treasures from the gods and threw them over the waterfall, in another she mastered the ocean winds and currents, inventing navigation and that upset Thassa) so there are many different variations of what might be the truth. After all Elspeth herself had her experiences exaggerated by myth telling, and Heliod casting Arixmethes into the sea was probably another embellishment because it was on a kraken in the end. Perhaps Thassa's Ire depicts a generic scene but I do wonder if it was actually Callaphe's fate after all. Guess we'll have to wait a few years to find out if we do.

I wondered if her fate had been alluded to but it's too vague to tell for sure I suppose.
