I know there is a lot of references to Shandalar in the core sets now, but is there any way of know what is supposed to be from Shandalar and what isn't? It's hard to understand the flavor of the plane when all I have is odds and ends.

Shandalar is magic bull***** planeswalker-like plane. It drifts through the multiverse and sometimes picks up stuff from other planes by accident. So even stuff originating from other planes, like Slivers, sometimes ends up there.
Nah Shandalar has a bit of official settings and material and lots and lots of random stuff that they put in the coreset and say: its from shandalar...
for reference Aeronaut Tinkerer is from shandalar , also refering to other Tinkerers ...
I almost think they are sc**ing the plane. For me they(creative) should just sit in their chairs and stablish a map for the plane locations and unknow places of the plane, just so they can add that flavor to flavor text stories and don't end again with the "Slivers in Shandalar: Why ? - They just apeared..." or " the ancient troll civilization named Onnake from Shandalar \ whait it better we use ogres instead(for reasons) - but we alread said trolls in the comic - WTH who read these any way?"
I know that i m complaining but the way it looks i m thinking its better(for me) to stop to make sense of Shandalar and start to say : "Oh that thing is from Shandalar!!! great but whatever Shandalar is a mess"
from the core set flavor on Shandalar the only i liked was the Yisan and Jalira plot ... just cause they used actual canon Material instead of the oh we want this but the canon don't cover that ... "lets make it canon!!"
Again sorry for the complain

Every location we have is collected here:

Knowing that much, you can place this and that in the correct place, but there are still things that we don't know about in the core set.
Anything that refers to "Thune", "Kalonia", "Xathrid", "Evos Isle", or "Valkas" in name or flavor text; all regions on Shandalar.
Anything referring to the Onnake, a native tribe of
trollsogres that created the Chain Veil.Level 1 Judge
I write flavor articles for RoxieCards.
I play and judge at Giga Bites Cafein Marietta, Georgia.
And it seems they're sticking with Xathrid being a location rather than the name of a demon like Doug said long ago. Although it could be both.
R Citizen Cane (Feldon of the Third Path)
