Yes, quite horribly too, being basically humiliated and having her love interest turned into the worst type of zombie. Her's is the sort of demise you'd expect from a fanfic written by someone who hates her guts.
Based on what people are saying about how she could be rescued, would she come back as a zombie/returned? Or is this ala Hercules rescuing Meg from Hades in the beloved 1997 Disney adaptation where she would return to her former self. lol
The greek underworld is a place where you could come in and out provided you tried hard enough and didn't disrespect Hades, Charon or Thanatos in your way out.
Since
Erebos pulled a bull***** monkey's pawn with their deal, she has no reason to stay dead and she's sure to come out as soon as she finds out

Exceptn the Theros Underworld, as far as we've seen, forces you to be divided into a Nostron (Returned) and an Eidolon in your way out. Losing one's identity is a key part in death in Theros, so at best cases were you can leave and not be condemned to an eternity of grief are very rare.
That said, it's implied Erebos wants to make Elspeth into a God, so she'll probably leave anyways.
I like the idea of Elspeth as the white god. It would also fit in with her wanting her own idyllic/white-oriented land, perhaps more than her being a Planeswalker hopping place to place.

Actually, it seems to me to be more like the kind of all-encompassing tragedy common in Greek mythology (a-la Oedipus Rex or Antigone); but that's just my opinion.

A polite player might call my card choices "interesting." At my budget, "interesting" is the only option.
In greek tragedies the hero is still usually rewarded with something, usually deification. Elspeth's reward is simply being remembered fondly, and even then it's bound to become pro-Heliod propaganda, as with the myth at the beginning of the story.
I wonder though, since Elspeth is not a native of Theros, what becomes of PW when they die on certain planes that are not their home plane? Is their soul bound by the metaphysics of their home or the plane they're on?

Brady was once asked that exact question.
We were given the super helpful answer of "It Depends".

I dunno. With Doug we at least get lovely pictures of sunsets.
But seriously, Doug has been really helpful. It's not entirely fair to take shots at him.

I suppose. He just has never answers me. And they're not absurd questions either.

For now, we can only speak definitively of what we've seen happen.
