He's sad and lonely mostly. It's a combination of feeling disconnected from people around him because of being a walker and having people always after something from him.
yeah no offense but it's probably a good idea to actually know something about a character before discussing what he's likely to do/feel and coming up with ideas. your whole post is full of well I think this happened when its about the opposite of what actually happen in all regards.
If he can erase his memory then he can simply walk away and make a new life for himself (again).
He doesn't want to have to do that if he can help it.
I'm just not sure what direction developers are taking him, especially after rtr. Unless I missed something, it doesn't seem that Jace has any long term goals.
You're not missing something, one of Jace's things is that he's seeking a place in life. A scenario where his gifts can be an asset and not an encumbrance.

Yeah, ultimately he wants to make a continued connection and actually have something to live for.
For the longest time, Jace scraped by in the easiest way possible so he could live comfortably, but it wasn't a particularly fulfilling life and never really had anything that made him feel accomplished.
And then everything changed with the Fire Nation Consortium attacked.
It probably started a bit ahead of that honestly. Liliana plotted most of that affair, it wouldn't surprise me to learn she's the one that, likely anonymously, pointed them at Jace in the first place.
Aware of such, but clarity in fact is tantamount and you did provide the needed exploration of what changed in that life and why he gave up what he knew to attempt something he hoped would offer him more.
It's still relevant to Jace's emotional stability.
The entire point of my post was me asking for information to clarify what my group doesn't know. I was not expressing an opinion or laying claims. My second sentience states a request for correct information. I'm not entirely sure where the following came from;
Maybe read before posting? Thanks for taking the time to comment.
@Barinellos thanks for the link. That did give us a bit of insight on a few things, but in all I still don't see why he is portrayed as such an emotional person. except I wasn't referring to what happened after your self proclaimed point of ignorance you don't seem to have any grasp of Jace's character at any point of time.
he briefly learned everything tezz knew about the consortium but than purposely forgot it all I am not aware of any other time he was able to read tezz's mind.
edit actually I remember and yes it was from the duel that left tezz comatose jace learned about where tezz stashed his emergency resources and used it to try and trap him in test of metal I think? at any rate he hasn't used or made mention of any other knowledge he might of gained from tezz so far.

There are a lot of issues revolving around how much Test of Metal gave the finger to canon.
(Appropriate considering how much the author gave the finger to fans.)
