I've got around 20 EDH decks in my blog, all of which have flavor-over-functionality choices and even original characters behind them.
We should organize a game at some point, it'd be interesting seeing all the flavor decks go at it.
Good decklists, sir.
Now if only it wasn't so much of an effort to take a flight from the Philippines to the States, I would gladly join the game. Haha. I'll take my Baron Sengir deck with me.
Good choices. I was thinking about Jaya, and Krenko. I was also considering making them tribal, in which case Krenko would be the most obvious choice, IMO, for red. Also, making tribal decks has always been a joy of mine. I think, given the cards I own, it would be difficult to keep the power levels balanced between the 5 if I was to make them tribal though-my collection of elves is much hardier than my collection, of, well, any other mostly mono-colored tribe. (My collection of slivers being complete, and therefore the hardiest.)
Edit: If I did go tribal, it would probably be Elves, Goblins, Zombies, Wizards, and Soldiers, as I absolutely adored Onslaught block (even Legions and Scourge!) But a good argument might be able to convince me to switch Wizards out for Merfolk or Illusions, or Soldiers out for Angels or maybe Kithkin.

I am a:
Storyline nerd, sliver-lover, vegan, anarchist, pansexual, role-playing, tattoo-covered, punk kid. Those are all the applicable labels I can think of, I will add more as they pop up.
Current decks:
:symr::symw: Allies-Modern
:symg::symu: Infect-Old Standard that I need to update
And trying to decide what my next EDH will be.
I am a :symg::symrg::symr::symur::symu::symug: 'walker all the way.

If you're going tribal, and trying to get capital-C Colored decks going, I'd go with Angels for white. Radiant, Archangel as the general, some thematically appropriate sweepers (Day of Judgement, Divine Reckoning, Wrath of God), wacky Congregate-style lifegain shenanigans...
For blue, I don't know that Illusions would work (your options for on-tribe legends are Mistform Ultimus and Meloku, the Clouded Mirror), and while I'm a huge merfolk fan, I do agree that Wizards are the way to go.
For black, Zombies are great, but Vampires would also work. On-theme removal options abound, and there are more than couple of viable legends (Anwon, the Rune Sage, Ascendant Evincar, Khalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet) to lead the way. I'm more of a zombie man myself, but I'm just playing devil's advocate here.
(Speaking of zombies, I recommend Mikaeus, the Unhallowed to lead the deck. That's just dripping with zombie flavor. Or ichor, it's hard to tell the two apart sometimes.)
Red and green are spot-on--you can't go wrong with goblins and elves.

I was more thinking over Cockatrice. It'd be great playing with you guys, and you can build your deck as flavorful as you want without regard to monetary cost.

A mere ten days after the Mending, a young knight of Valeron and a young ranger of Eos made a discovery that would change Alara forever.
I know, I've got nearly all of the above, the trouble is trying to form them into a cohesive deck!!! Hanna needs artifacts and enchantments, Barrin chews through permanents, Mangara's one-shot, Gerrard's sadly the team mascot, most of the Weatherlight's crew are actually pretty specific in their uses.
The "Villians" one works a little better, as the deck plays like Grixis control. killing and countering early on, then swinging in with the big guys at the end.
Edit: Wouldn't exactly put Akroma in the "Hero's" deck. And I agree it's a shame I can't run Red, Tarhngarth and Squee are some of the better storyline legends (for EDH).
Also had a one-off thought about making a "Seven Samurai" deck, totally going off Akira Kurosawa's epic. Isao, Takeno, Golden-Tail, Nagao, Opal-Eye, Kentaro, and either Izuka or Fumiko. Three of each, and combat tricks. Thoughts? How can I make it more flavourful?

Holy crap, how did I miss out on that idea? That's wicked.
Are you looking into them being the only Samurais in your deck? Such a shame that there's no one flavorful enough to be a general in this deck. Who were you looking at as a general?
I'd say put a lot of cards that have something to do with the seven virtues of the Samurai, namely: rectitude, courage, benevolence, respect, honesty, courage, honor, and loyalty.
Was thinking of making the Seven Samuari a 60 card deck, as Samurai at an EDH level REALLY lack firepower. Maybe run two or three of each samurai to allow them to show up semi-regularly.
Then maybe build a ronin deck and have them duke it out. Duel Decks kitchen table edition?

Salvaging Station. Works with Hanna, Barrin gets all the permanents he needs, and you have Voyager Staff for Mangara! Done!
Yup. We'd love to see the decklist when you're done.
The new PW, Vraska, sent chills down my spine. She's now my second favorite PW ability-wise (the top being Elspeth, Knight-Errant, natch), and I'm now thinking of officially making a Sisters of Stone Death EDH deck. Apart from your usual set of Gorgon-related cards, what else do you guys think would fit well in the concept of "stony death"? I would've added Stone-Cold Basilisk, but...
Hi everyone, My name's Mauricio (Mau for short), and I started Magic around Onslaught, and kept casual until Alara. I quit because I ran out of people to play with. I was always a Vorthos, and was a regular in all the MtG storyline forums I could find.
What's up? My name is John and I've been involved with Magic since Homelands. I never really got into Magic until I read my first novel during the Weatherlite Saga for school homework, which I believe I failed because I can't tell stories for the life of me as I make it as short and sweet as possible. After Odyssey started to come out, I just stopped as the new mechanic that removed counters and stopped damage was new and I didnt understand it. Came back to Magic SoM block because my nephew got a box of M11 and asked to help him build a deck and I love artifacts.
Urza is my favorite character and I hope they make him in an Un-Set, along with all the Old'walkers. Probably wont happen, but a guy can dream, can't he? Also, I'm a dental assistant.
Which is why you chose Sensor Splicer as your avatar? If so, that's hilarious.
Urza in an unset would be cool. Too bad it would probably end up being "Urza the Retcon" or something as a joke. Yes, he was decapitated and exploded, but that was an Urzabot, so now he's back. Don't worry about it.

It is why I chose it, lol. I saw him and liked his colors and I dawned on me that he looks like he's working on a patient! BAM! Avatar.
Angels of Despair were servant, sentinel, assassin, and lover to the Orzhov Patriarchy. They usually came in mixed pairs and were utilized for all their functions until the patriarch was literal unable to use them. And Patriarchs tended to live several hundred years.

Flavor themed EDH game? Wrexial would enjoy that.

Or play up white's taxing/rule setting theme in addition to the angel angle and run Linvala, Keeper of Silence or Iona, Shield of Emeria as your commander, along with such fun things as Rule of Law, Ghostly Prison, Norn's Annex.

7 Samurai versus Konda for the win.

Gilded Drake and Sower of temptation are Barrin's best friends.

Now you can find me in WoW
Mi blog: http://japoniano.blogspot.com/
When you cast Scion, you always pass the turn. Fetch up a dragon with haste and go to town. It's still your commander.
And as far as i know, you don't play any cards that protect your dragons.
Play more, removal and draw.
That's what i picked up, but i don't know your list..

I don't get it.
