I hope we get a second Kiora story and we're not left hanging with interest like this
Idk, and I hope we do, but we should get more Planeswalker goodness in 1-2 weeks with Jace & Vraska.

3WWU, 2GWW, and 4RWW! These were the mana costs chosen to summon the perfect little angel! But Professor Avacyn accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction! Chemical x Thus, the Powerpuff Girls were born! Using their ultra super powers, Gisela, Bruna, and Sigarda have dedicated their lives to fighting crime and the forces of evil!
yeah, i liked today's uncharted, too.
it kind of reminded me of Pheidippedes and the run of Marathon. just a little, though.
But why do we gotta wait until April to download the book? Won't the block be just about finished around that time? does that mean they're going to have parts 1,2 and 3 available around the same time?
I checked on amazon and it seems like there will only be 2 parts. I guess wizards wanted to releases them closer together then the RTR book(s).
JOU releases on May 2. The first book releases about 2 weeks before and the second book 2 weeks after. I guess they wanted to sync Book #1 with the amount of hype building for JOU during spoiler weeks? Obviously they couldn't release Book #2 until after JOU since it would spoil the ending before the set was even out.
This week's story wasn't bad, but it's confusing where it fits in the chronology since it comes immediately after the week about the Siege of Akros.
Also can we get ONE. SINGLE. STORY. about Setessa? Please? It's been 15 weeks and my favorite color combo is feeling neglected.
I liked this story, loved now I have a little story for my heroes deck when I bestow Eidolon of Countless Battles with my Hero of Iroas.
Also like seeing how the general population is reacting to Xenagos becoming a god.

“There are no weak Jews. I am descended from those who wrestle angels and kill giants. We were chosen by God. You were chosen by a pathetic little man who can't seem to grow a full mustache"
"You can tell how dumb someone is by how they use Mary Sue"
I really did like the story. Aesrias particularly being the LEAST fond of fighting harpies which is, if I'm not mistaken, the exact same sentiment as Kratos from God of War. Main thing that caught me off guard: Eidolon of Countless Battles is a Nyxborn eidolon? Besides this story, what indicates this? I was under the impression that only Nyxborn Eidolon/Rollicker/Shieldmate/Triton/Wolf were Nyxborn creature cards...

I believe all the enchantment creatures are born in the realm of the gods, therefore they are all Nyxborn. The Nyxborn card cycle just don't have any other interesting features, I guess.
Fairly certain that the nymphs and Boon Satyr are still native to Theros, even if the nymphs were created by the gods. Also, natural eidolons are the spirits of the deceased that escaped the underworld when their Returned emerged back into Theros

If the pattern holds, that's where we'll be focused for Journey into Nyx. Most of the action of Theros was centered around Meletis, and most of the action of Born of the Gods was centered around Akros. There being one more set and one more polis, odds are we'll be focusing on Setessa for Journey into Nyx. This also ties in with Elspeth's journey--she started out in Meletis and fought the hydra, then she went to Akros to defend against the minotaur horde, and when the after party turned into Xenagos' Grand Revel and Launch Party she headed into the forest in shame. And Setessa, of course, is the polis that happens to be located in a forest.
EDIT: Forgot the whole point of posting in this thread today--I really enjoyed today's story. The political intrigue and betrayal, the breaking of siren necks, a Nyxborn... I'd give it a solid B+.

I'm pretty sure Boon Satyr is supposed to be a Nyxborn. If I'd have to guess it's that there was a rare green card in Theros that needed to be cut and replaced. Because they didn't have a good alternative for the art they simply pulled Boon Satyr from Born of the Gods into Theros. Additionally it should be noted that Boon Satyr is the only Bestow card in Theros that gives non-square P/T boost, which was supposed to happen in Born of the Gods for the first time, together with the Nyxborn.
As for the nymphs, we simply don't know how the nyxborn work. It could be that Nyx is a separate world similar to the two realms on Kamigawa, but we don't have enough information on that. So untill we know that the Nymphs are born and live in Nyx and are sent to the mortal world by the gods OR are created by the gods from scratch and put on Theors and the nyxborn live in Nyx as some sort of mirror to the mrotal plane we can't really determine if Nymphs are true nyxborn or not.
And then there's the fact that eidolons are enchantment creatures no matter where they come from, which boggles my mind.
The various Planeswalker's Guides have this to say:
Quote from Part 1 »
Enchantments: Magic of the Gods
The gods themselves are living enchantments. For this reason, all enchantments are thought to be gifts from the gods—a unique form of magic enabled by divinities.
Additionally, when other creatures such as nymphs demonstrate the "infusion" of night sky that all the gods have in common, it's taken as evidence that the nymphs are servants of the gods, native to Nyx, and only visiting the sunlit, mortal world at the gods' behest.
Quote from Part 3 »
Nymphs
Nymphs are divinely created creatures that inhabit special places, infusing them with the magic of Nyx. Most are benevolent and associated with healing or other life-giving magic, but dark nymphs dwell near the entrances to the Underworld and in places of great sorrow as well. Nymphs were intentionally created by the gods and can act as companions, messengers, guardians, or scouts.
Nymphs tend to be mysterious, shy creatures who spend most of their lives around a single location.
Part 3 and the short story "Nymphs of Theros" suggest that the nymphs are never actually found in Nyx, they poof into existence already on Theros whenever a god wills it. The Nyxborn are stated as already living in Nyx and later crossing over to Theros, though.
All of the Eidolon cards encountered thusfar have been Nyxborn, as are all enchantment creatures.
Baleful Eidolon and Hopeful Eidolon have not yet been confirmed to be Nyxborn. Also, has the underworld been confirmed to be in Theros or in Nyx?

The Underworld has been confirmed to not be part of Nyx, as it lacks a night sky.
As with all recent blocks, Creative has been purposefully vague as to the relative locations of various places on Theros. There's a definite "end of the world" where a giant waterfall is located (Temple of Mystery), the boundary between the Underworld and the sunlit mortal realm is called "The Rivers that Ring the World," and the Underworld is a subterranean realm underneath the Rivers. Perhaps the giant waterfall drains off into the nearest of the five Rivers?
There are also underground tunnels where still-living mortals can reach the Rivers ("Tragedy") although it's unclear how long these are. I'd guess that getting souls (or bodies) to cross from one world to the other involves a planar portal-esque setup that defies Earth physics.

It's like a third world connected to Theros.
Anyways, you can tell EoCB was a Nyxborn because he has armor which denotes a stronger sense of self that an Eidolon is supposed to lack.
Things like Baleful, Hopeful, and Everflame seem like natural Eidolon. Ghostblade might land somewhere between the two, it's not clear.
Imo it would be rather confusing if there was Theros native enchantment creature with nyx starts on the borders.
I always thought anything with the stars on the cards were from nyx.

There's no such thing as a "Theros native enchantment creature".
The Eidolon are from the Underworld which is something else altogether.
I just don't see why we should assume that any of the Eidolons we've seen thus far aren't Nyxborn when every other enchantment creature we've seen thusfar has been.
I think my favorite part of the story this week was the hero admitting that he didn't know how to pray to Xenagos. That most of Theros' population doesn't quite know what to make of Xenagos and potentially doesn't know of his origins interests me greatly.
This week was... not all that great honestly.
I dunno, it all felt really thinly strung together.
I also don't particularly like the convenience that virtually everyone seems to know the planes we've visited. I mean seriously, Innistrad apparently has so much foot traffic that it's kind of disgusting. I just really couldn't deal with that, it's too convenient.
Vraska's personality too, seems to have taken a WILD swing away from what we knew. Jace is about as consistent as always at least.
It's not necessarily that Jace has been to Innistrad as much as it is that he's aware of it from interactions with other Planeswalkers.
That might not mean much, though.
Interesting that they're trying to tie this into Garruk.
My headcanon that he and Jace are drinking buddies gains ground!
I wonder what Teysa would think of someone who wants to kill the guildleaders.
It'd be great to see something come of that story thread.
Shandalar.
No opponent to dictate when your turn rolls around again.
Shandalar.
The person she was talking to was likely Talrand telling her about Shandalar's sea drakes.
