What's your favorite fight/battle in a Magic novel?
I'm trying to think back to Invasion and all that...but remembering recent stuff...um...um...
I liked Druid Kamahl's battle with Phage and Akroma...
I liked Chainer's various battles in Torment...
And the Burke vs. Balthor fight was nice, though it pissed me off that Burke died...
Also...hrmmm...I wonder what my favorite fight scene is though...
I did definitely like that whole huge Ixidor's Army vs. The Cabal and Krosan battle...
As for Mirrodin...not much really...I hated it...Geth's vampire was cool, and so was Malil...
And Kamigawa...hrmmm...a few random battles, mainly involving Toshi, though I can say that huge battle at the end with Michiko and her super sister or whatever beating down the giant Kami was total ****. It was like DBZ or something.

I haven't read any books past the Judgement book, so this will probably change some time later.
My favorite fight was probably Phage's Army against Akroma's Army. I also really liked the fight against Khamal and Laquatas in the end of the Judgement book. The fight between Szadek and the other guilds in the Ravnica book was mediocre at best. Another good one (Sorry TFE, but it's my opinion) was Glissa against the Kaldra Champion. I like how at first he served Glissa, then Memnarch used brain control and put him against her.
Remember Invasion? The first-blood duel between Agnate (the surviving Metharan twin) and Eladamri (Korvecdal). It wasn't top, hard-hit action with spells flying everywhere.
It was real simple...big blue ego got his butt kicked by Uncle Elf (who's a head shorter and twice the age). Both men did display great swordsmanship and J. Robert King portrayed the scene quite well.
King does have a sense of humor....Sivvi is standing in the corner, worrying herself half to death that her man was going to get sliced into pieces by Agnate.
My personal favorite of all the multitude of fights is probably the fight between Urza and Gerrard in phyrexia. The plot line of that fight was really interesting in how even though urza won once yawgmoth still had the power to bring gerrard back from the dead to fight urza again. Then Urza got his head cut off and yet still lived... odd.... truly different.
One of the most memorabl fights for me though was in the first book that I read. It was in the mercadian masques book when orim and her troop were crossing the sea to the sapraazan city and the giant merfolk attacked and the book went on to graphically describe how it took a man in its hand and crushed him until he was nothing but mush and then the merfolk wrenched a harpoon out of its own body and shoved it through the chest of another sailor causing him to literally explode. The graphicness of this battle just kinda got me hooked on the books. Yay francis leberon.

LMAO... well to tell the truth the first fight that came to mind when I saw this thread was the fight between Gix and Urza early in the books but I dont know why I thought of that....

Ummm, I really shouldn't have read all these books so long ago but...
Toshi's fights, especially the early ones in Outlaw (Soratami Shinobi, oh my!)
Basically and decent Dementia summoner in battle.
Kamahl owning people with the sword or the staff.
When Urza took the dragon to Phyrexia and had to retreat but killed a lot in the process. But I also like everybody elses suggestions, I like most Magic books in general.

I liked Urza vs. Gerrard, because it meant Gerrard bled. A lot. (little ****er) I like most battles involving planeswalkers, the final fight between Urza/Mishra, Yawgmoth's last battle at the Defile, and anything with Jodah and Dim Bulb.
Although it wasn't an actual fight, I liked the the enmity between Greven il-Vec and Phyrexian-altered Crovax in Nemesis. I suppose it is more of a psychological battle than a physical battle (although there is at least one actual fight where Greven beats face until Crovax activates Greven's spinal torture device). Besides that, I also liked the fight between Urza and Radiant. She claws his eyes out, c'mon.

My favorite fight I would have to say is the Mirri vs Crovax in Rath and Storm. The fight itself was simple enough but the way it was written in the novel was astounding. Two scenes alternating: one, the fight itself between the cat warrior and the soon-to-be vampire; and two, Mirri’s struggles in the Spirit Way. It was the perfect climax to where Gerrard had to choose between saving Mirri and saving Weatherlight. To me, it is the most powerful sequence of events. I dare say, nothing has come even close.

Hey, Guildpact had a pretty badass dragon fight at the end, not to mention everyone-vs-Hauc before that. I like when Golozar picked him up by his skull and just tossed him backwards. I hope Time Spiral incorporates Golozar, if not some other cool Ravnica legends, because he was badass. I also liked when the albino dragon tore off the blue dragon's head. Haha...yeah..
The one between Urza and Mishra at the end was good just because it was what the reader was waiting for the whole book, and you know what it will trigger in the future. It's like watching Anakin and Obi-Wan fight at the end of RotS, you know what's gonna go down, but you're fascinated by how it happens anyway.
Barrin was pretty cool, using all colors of magic, usually blue but dipping into a lot of black and red while angry. Ertai also had a neat little variety when he was on Predator.
Karn renouncing pacifism at the end of Invasion. "If I must slay the guilty to save the innocent, then I will kill!" *squish squish squish*
Hanna vs Shapeshifter in Rath & Storm. Nice to see the geek do some hand-to-hand instead of just charting flightpaths and welding random junk to the Legacy.
Lots of good ones in Kamigawa and Ravnika, I've really enjoyed those novels.
The Thran had one moment that really stuck out: the first Phyrexians in action. Lost a hand? Stab people with your exposed arm bones. That seriously needs to be in a movie sometime. (the 'crawl up the spear impaling you to stab your killer' has been in several books/movies, including the original King Arthur legend iirc).

I absolutely loved when Karn ripped into Tsabo Tavoc. He tore her a new one, almost quite literally. Of course her getting eaten by Crovax later on was..quite...disgusting. Kind of funny, but very disgusting

Some really good points guys, but how about when Barrin went totally physco on the Kelds in the Prophecy book? When he projected the monster behind them so they stop running away from him? And they kept running towards it anyway?
Awsome

There was also the fight between Greven and Tahngarth. Tahngarth ripped him apart the second time around. Then he unleashed "Crovax's calling card" and sent it crashing through the Stronghold
