I was wondering if any of you had an idea for a site you wish existed relating to Magic: the Gathering! I have a two week break coming up and was thinking of trying to hammer out something useful for the community. There are already a lot of deck builders and collection managers, but if you wanted something different (or the aforementioned with different features), here's your chance to ask! I know a lot of people would be interested in picking up other ideas that I don't do.
Is there a tool out there for designing your own reprint sets and doing virtual drafts of them? As in, picking form cards that already exist, choosing a rarity to put them at, and setting rules for how cards are added to packs so it can be the same as real sets or even weird new rules (such as 4 uncommons)? Something where you could, say, design your own wish-list version of Modern Masters 20xx and generate test drafts? Something where you could use a particularly large collection and enter it into the system how much of each card you have, and then set the cards into virtual booster packs to do a draft with people virtually before assembling things similar to a cube, but with more normal pack design (or just outright simulating actual sets accurately, within the limits of your collection)?
A good tool for some of the weirder 'choose at random' situations that can turn up with some cards requring you to choose things randomly from weird numbers of things on the board or other zones, like Tyrant of Discord?
A life tracker app for a tablet or Windows laptop or Chromebook that also tracks tokens each player has, including how many of each token type, if the token is tapped, if it's got counters on it, if it's got summoning sickness, etc.?
Something that can use a smartphone's or tablet's camera or an augmented reality headset to look at a card, identify what card it is regardless of language, and bring up the oracle text and such of that card in your chosen language, so you can more easily play with people who play with alternate language cards in jerky kind of ways or without having to ask them repeatedly or so that you can check foreign language card sections in your store as a newer player or the like?
A life tracker app that also includes a tool to track steps of the turns and such of each player, and you can set reminders to happen at certain steps and turns and such to remind you of card triggers for various cards, such as 'on upkeep' or 'when attacking' or 'end of turn' etc.?
A collection manager that will automatically build a deck for you out of cards you own that has done well recently in MTGO in a chosen format based on published MTGO data, if you have the sufficient cards to build any of those decks, it will build the one with the best MTGO stats, or give you options of multiple based on a certain threshold of good results?
