As title says and many other gamers share this view we really need a new magic online, most players think we need an overall UI remake while I think we need a whole new game all together, what kind of game you ask ? well an MMO(Not an MMO per say but with MMO characteristic and please without subscription we are alredy broke as it is) something like you create your own avatar(with any race that exists in magic) and you a run through a brief tutorial where you learn the basics of magic the gathering then with the initial investment(U$9.99)you receive a collection of spells(cards) that would be avaible at your Tome(that could be a book or a crystal memory and etc...) after that you would create your deck with cards that your have or you could pay someoneto teach or exchange "knowledge" (buy new cards or exchange cards) planeswalk to any where in the multiverse you could challenge players or npc alike.
Seriously though, I agree with you. MTGO is completely unusable for the average person, and the type of immersive game you are describing would get lots of new players interested.
