Not all styles support all mana symbols.
Usually these symbols appear automatically when used "T: Add GG to your mana pool", but when a symbol does not appear, put brackets [ ] around it. If a symbol appears where you don't want it, reverse the brackets, like ]G[.
Q. How do I make a copyright or trademark symbol?
A. Type "(C)" for a copyright symbol or "TM" for a trademark symbol.
Also, you can open your Character Map and copy and paste any symbol from there into MSE, and the symbol will appear as long as the font for the area you are trying to paste into includes that character. Note that not all fonts include all characters.
Q. How do I add Guild Insignias and Basic Land symbols?
A. These can be hard to find, so make sure you have "Show Lines Around Fields" enabled under the Edit -> Prefrences -> Display menu. You should now see a square box in the text box. Click on the bottom of it to bring up the watermarks menu. Most styles support watermarks - only a few do not.
Q. Is there a Mac version of MSE?
A. No. There have been attempts, but there are many problems in the way currently. They are being worked on, but a Mac release is not in the foreseeable future.
There have been reports of users being able to get the Windows version of MSE to work on Intel Macs, though. Read more here.
Q. How do I use an mse-installer file?
A. Open the installer using MSE.exe, or drag and drop the file onto MSE.exe or a shortcut to MSE.exe. The installer should do the rest for you.
Q. I used an mse-installer file, and I get errors saying things are out of date. What do I do?
A. You use Windows Vista or 7, don't you? When using these operating systems, you need write and modify privileges for the MSE root directory when running an installer file. To fix the problem, go into Computer, then from there to Local Disk (C: ), then to Program Files, then right click on Magic Set Editor 2. Click "Properties", then go to the "Security" tab. Click "Edit..." And then for every user set "Allow" "Full Control". Finally, run the mse-installer file again to fix the damage you have previously done and install the new template.
Q. Can I print proxies with MSE?
A. MSE is meant as a tool for making custom cards only. Please do not use MSE to make proxies. Thank you.
Q. Why do MSE's fonts not work?
A. Normally, they do. If your fonts are wrong, that's because something interfered with the MSE installer, and messed your fonts up. You'll need to find them and install them yourself in that eventuality.
Q. Is the next big new thing in Magic going to be added to MSE?
A. Yes. We've successfully added Levelers, Eldrazi Clear Frames, Planes, Fulltext Lands, Planeswalkers, Planeshifts, Futureshifts, Monocolor Hybrids, Special Rarity, Mythic Rarity, and a whole slew of other stuff. Whatever Magic does, we'll follow suit. Be patient, and it will happen.

Woo hoo! I love MSE, and will be downloading MSE soon now... Is there a(n easy) way to convert cards made with MSE1 to MSE2?
Yes, MSE 2 can import sets made in earlier versions of MSE 1. However, depending on the version, you may have to use a reent version of MSE 1 to import your set from the older version of MSE 1, save it, then import it wih MSE 2.

ok, I got the fonts- but where do I put them?

Two things: A- I've installed the fonts but still, when I open the program and start writing the fonts aren't magic fonts. and B- when I choose a guild watermark nothing happens.
Extract the fonts somewhere, then copy and paste them into you fonts directory, making sure to overwrite anything it asks you to. As for the Guild watermarks, they have not yet been implimented, you'll have to wait for the next release.

Try reinstalling, if that doesn't work, try putting the fonts in one at a time (sounds weird, but it's worked before). If you still have know luck, make sure you have the right magic fonts, and if all else fails, e-mail Twanvl.

I used MSE1 and it's a great soft but now I want to use MSE2 to make good looking proxies for myself and I have a few questions after I tried to make a Gaea's Cradle:
Where could I find real expansion symbol to use with MSE2 ?
How can I set the backgroud of the textbox to something like the real Gaea's? It's a green and yellow background.
I made a set that's supposed to be the base set for a block (it has 360 cards), but when I export it to Apprentice, it only shows up as an option for boosters in Sealed Deck Generator. I can't add starters from my set. What's up with that?
Wow, the new MSE is awesome! It's great for quickly rendering cards when you can't be bothered/don't have enough time to/etc. render something in Photoshop, and I'm glad you've put all the new frames in.
A few things, is there any way to have flip cards, split cards, normal cards, tokens, and old style cards in the same set?
And can you fix that flavour text problem (with the flavour text looking really awful when it reaches a certain size)

So you're one of the makers of MSE2? Well, first off, thanks a lot. The program is much better than the original. I love it! Consider for the next update making full art token frames along with the older ones. I like to make tokens in the old MSE but they were missing good gold borders, and neither program has a full art token frame. Until then I guess we'll have to photoshop, which is fine, but it'd save me a lot of work
