Hi. For example, I have a scavenging ooze, just a 2/2 no counters yet - it is also equipped with a Skeleton Key. Opponent has a Hooting Mandrils and a 5/6 Tarmogoyf. I then declare the ooze as an attacker.. they can't block because ooze is only a 2/2. Can I pump the ooze with a Vines of Vastwood after the declare blockers step to make it unblocked as a 6/6?
Yes. Skulk, as with any ability that prevents creatures from blocking, is relevant only at the moment blockers are declared at the start of the declare blockers step (C.R. 509.1b-c), and not at any other time. Changing Scavenging Ooze's power as you have done doesn't give the opponent another chance to declare blockers.
