I noticed that the EMA printing of Nimble Mongoose has a different Threshold template then the Odyssey printing. I looked at Gatherer and saw that the Oracle text is already updated (but I don't know when). Possibly this has already been commented on.
My question is: With this template, is threshold still tied to seven cards for is it modular to whatever number is specified on the card? My feeling is that it is modular.
Threshold was errataed a while back to be an ability word instead of a keyword. (When Odyssey was released, they didn't have ability words yet; they were introduced in Saviors of Kamigawa.)
Threshold cards play exactly as they've always played; the difference is that the word "Threshold" on the card no longer does anything in and of itself -- previously it meant "this card only has this ability if you have seven or more cards in your graveyard". Now the cards just spell that out, with the Threshold ability word in italics to connect them thematically.
They could, rules wise, print a Threshold card that cared about a number other than 7, but they won't, just like they won't print a landfall card that cares about when your opponent plays a land -- the point of the the ability word is to tie together things that work the same.

Art is life itself.

The Mongoose has no functional change, just that's how Threshold stuff looks these days.
"oh man, I cast 2 Soerceries,I'm such a master!"
yeah, this is a non-functional change.
Selling some cards I don't want.
Generally less than tcg mid.
