Argument with my friend. i know Mizzix of the Izmagnus Does count towards things like Overload, buyback and X spells. But since a Kicker in an additional cost and not bart of the casting cost, you would still have to pay the kicker with you available mana correct?
Further more, Cards like Fireball for each addition atraget it is paid with your aviable mana and Mizzix ability doe snot benefit the amount of people you can hit.
Cost reductions are applied to the cost of a spell after applying any alternative costs, cost increases or additional costs. It doesn't matter what's contributing to the cost; as long as it's part of the cost to cast the spell, it can be reduced. Both kicked spells and spells that have their costs increased like Fireball does will have their costs reduced by Mizzix's ability, potentially including part or all of the kicker/extra costs.
For example, Fireball with X=3 and 3 targets would cost 3R+2=5R before reduction. If you have four experience counters Mizzix will make the Fireball cost 1R.
Note that for purposes of getting another experience counter, Mizzix only cares about the true mana cost of the spell. Using Dilithim's example, you would not get an additional counter because Fireball costs 4 and you have 4 experience.
And just as a sidenote, Buyback is an additional cost just like Kicker is. If the argument revolved around Mizzix working for Buyback but not for Kicker, you guys should brush up on the rules surrounding costs.
Note that for purposes of getting another experience counter, Mizzix only cares about the true mana cost of the spell. Using Dilithim's example, you would not get an additional counter because Fireball costs 4 and you have 4 experience.
Is that actuelly true? I thought Mizzix cares about the converted manacosts of a spell, which is the printed cost plus X plus any additional costs, right? Mizzix's own cost reduction is not actually factored into wether or not he gets an experience counter, or am I on the wrong foot here?

Additional costs are not a part of CMC only the printed values and X.
