I know you're not allowed to assist people playing in a sanctioned event, but if you are watching a match, can you point out rules being broken if you noticed them and they didn't, before they put the game to far past it?
like not reading a card correctly, or missing triggers that are not "may"
At Regular or Competitive enforcement, you can ask the players to pause while you get a judge (but tell the judge what you're concerned about rather than telling the players). At Professional enforcement you cannot interfere with a match at all; just go get a judge quickly.

Ok, so its best to just let the judges handle it if one is available, but in a non professional setting I could still point it out if one is not available?
A player got upset when i pointed out on his attack phase that his creatures also died from his Crux of fate and said I shouldn't be interfering
As a spectator - if you see what you feel is an error; it is always best to go to the TO or judge. The reason is, you don't know if the player has done this in the past or earlier that day. Its also often better to ask this as a question - as opposed to simply telling a player.
"Doesn't crux of fate non-dragons kill all the creatures on the table; his and yours?" can tell you how a player is thinking... and that can be the difference between misunderstanding the game and cheating.

Lightning Bolts don't kill creatures. State-based actions kill creatures.
