Hi, I have a quick question regarding the interaction between Dragonlord Kolaghan and any hard counterspell. If I control the dragonlord and my opponent casts any creature spell, if I successfully countered the creature spell before the dragonlord trigger resolves and that creature spell hits the graveyard, then theoretically at the time the dragonlord trigger is resolving, there is a creature card in the graveyard that is the same name as the creature spell that was cast (the same card actually!) and the opponent should lose the 10 life. Does it work like that? I know Mishra, Artificer Prodigy works in a similar way.

This is not the same situation as Mishra at all. Kolaghan triggers off of your opponent casting a creature or planeswalker spell with the same name as a card in his or her graveyard. It's not "whenever a player casts a spell, they lose 10 life if they have a card with the same name in their graveyard", it literally only triggers if the card is already there at the time of casting.
Mishra, on the other hand, triggers off of a spell being cast and then searches for a card with the same name. If you counter the spell before the ability resolves, it will see that same card in the graveyard and it will fulfill the conditions and be able to return.

Hi, I have a question concerning Dragonlord Kolaghan also. Let's say you control a Quicksilver Amulet (but the situation involves any way of playing Kolaghan at instant speed). Can you wait until your opponent casts a creature/planeswalker with the same name as one in their graveyard, then flash in Kolaghan, thus triggering his effect by surprise? Or is it too late to do so by then?
This seems similar to flashing in Ob Nixilis, Unshackled in response to them searching their library, but I wasn't sure it would work the same way here.
Someone please clear this up for me. Thanks in advance!

That's what I was afraid of, oh well, guess there won't be any sneaky flashing loss of life going on here. Thanks for your answer!
