You sacrifice the creature as part of the cost of playing the Scapegoat. Child of Alara's trigger will go on the stack first, then Scapegoat will resolve. First nonland permanents destroyed, then Scapegoat's action happens.
EDIT: In other words, your creatures will be dead before you get to resolve Scapegoat.
If I cast Scapegoat and sacrifice my Child of Alara, will my other creatures die before I can return them to my hand?
Because it's part of the cost to cast the spell (And not based on resolution of the spell), Child of Alara's triggered ability will go on the stack when you sacrifice it as part of the cost of casting Scapegoat, and will go on the stack above Scapegoat, resolving before Scapegoat and destroying all your creatures.
