Hi, I'm new, so forgive me if the card tags didn't work.
I'm wondering if snakeform, which "turn[s] target creature into a 1/1 green snake creature" can target a creature spell before it resolves on the stack.
A "creature" can only exist on the battlefield. While on the stack, it is a creature spell, and it is a creature card in any other zone. Snakeform cannot target Eater of Days until it has already resolved and its triggered ability has been put on the stack (and no, Snakeform won't counter the trigger - you'd need something like Voidslime for that.)

Effects like that can only function on creatures on the battlefield. When the spell is on the stack, it's not technically a creature yet. It's only once it resolves that it becomes a creature.
