Looked through the archives and didn't see this one there (but then again, most of the rules involving Harm's Way just had "Harm's Way" as the title)
Opponent has Eidolon of the Great Revel. I cast Harm's Way. As far as I understand, this does NOT allow me to redirect the 2 Eidolon damage back to Eidolon itself. As I understand it, I cast Harm's Way. Eidolon triggers. Eidolon trigger then resolves, dealing 2 to me. Then Harm's Way resolves, and has no damage to redirect. Is that right?
Of course, if I played a DIFFERENT spell first (say, Kitchen Finks), and then cast Harm's Way in response to the first Eidolon trigger, that would be different, right? Then Eidolon would trigger a second time, dealing 2 damage to me. Then Harm's Way would resolve, redirecting the 2 damage (triggered from Finks cast) to Eidolon. And then Finks would resolve. Is that right?
The trigger from the Eidolon goes on the stack above the spell that triggered it and will resolve first. So if you just cast Harm's Way, the damage is dealt before the Way resolves and the redirection shield is set up. You would need a second spell to be able to kill the Eidolon (either by casting the Way in response to the trigger from the Finks, or by casting the Way, letting it resolve, then casting a second spell).
