My opponent has a Jorubai Murk Lurker in his graveyard that choose to exile with Rotfeaster Maggot. If my opponent controls a swamp, do i gain 4 life instead of 3? Thanks.
Jorubai Murk Lurker's +1/+1 ability works only while it is on the battlefield. On the graveyard it was just a 1/3, so Rotfeaster Maggot will give you only 3 life.
Hello, instead of creating another thread on Rotfeaster maggot I'll just ask a very similar question from this thread. I hope you don't mind, but it seems easier for people to look things up in the future.
1) I have a kalonian twingrove in the grave yard. When this creature was killed, I had 7 forest on the battle field. So it was a 7/7 creature when it died.
2) 6 turns later, I have 12 forest on the battle field and my opponent cast rotfeaster maggot
3) how much life is he supposed to get? 7 or 12 or nothing?

Kalonian Twingrove's first ability is a Characteristic-Defining Ability and works on every zone. It constantly checks the number of forests, even when outside the battlefield.
Kalonian Twingrove's P/T are set by something called a "characteristic-defining ability" (CDA), and CDAs work in every zone. In your situation the Twingrove is a 12/12 in your graveyard, so your opponent gains 12 life.

The player gains 12 life.
