1. If I have a Wild Nacatl with a plains and mountain on the field and my opponent Swords to Plowshares it, do I get 3 life or 1? My guess and logical assumption is 3.
2. If similarly, I have a Wild Nacatl without a plains and mountain on the field, but it has 2 +1/+1 counters on it (say from Jund Charm), and it gets Swords to Plowshares, do I get 3 life or 1? My guess and logical assumption used to be 1, but now I'm 99% sure I get 3.
3. Can Dimir Charm kill Wild Nacatl when it's accompanied with a single plains (making it a 2/2), or when it only has 1 +1/+1 counter or no counters/no mountain and plains?
4. I can't think of an example off the top of my head, but something like this has happened before. If Wild Nacatl is in my hand and I have a mountain and a plains on the battlefield, is it a 3/3 in my hand? or is it still a 1/1 in my hand?
5. Finally, if I know I have a Wild Nacatl in my library and I have a a plains and a mountain on the battlefield, can Imperial Recruiter tutor him into my hand? Or is that card a 3/3 in my library, making him not a valid target to find?
Unless the text specifically says so, a permanent's abilities only function when the card is on the battlefield. That means that Wild Nacatl is only a 1/1 when it's not on the battlefield, no matter what lands are in play.
When an ability or spell looks at a creatures power or toughness, it looks at what that number is at the moment the ability or spell resolves, including any +1/+1 counters or abilities. It doesn't matter if Wild Nacatl has a +1/+1 counter or is buffed by the presence of a Plains, it's power is two for all effects and purposes.
1. You would gain 3 life. Swords to Plowshares looks at the last-known-information about the power of the exiled creature when it was on the battlefield
2. Again, you gain 3. Last-known-information has it as a 3/3.
3. If its power is 2 or less (after taking into account abilities and counters and everything else that modifies it), then yes, it can be destroyed.
4. No, it is a 1/1 in your hand. Abilities of a card do not take effect in any zone other than the battlefield, unless they are Characteristic-Defining Abilities (such as Tarmogoyf's ability that sets its power and toughness, or Dryad Arbor's ability that makes it green)
5. Yes. Again, while it is in your library, its abilities cannot take effect so it is only a 1/1.

I could of sworn that the change to color indicators meant that this wasnt a CDA anymore and was just something true about that card.

540 Peasant cube- Gold EditionSomething SpicyYou are correct, dryad arbor no longer has a CDA. The color indicator means it's a green card, however it would still be green in the players hand.
