I was wondering a couple things about evoke, specifically Mulldrifter. Say I evoke Mulldrifter with Vedalken Mastermind in play. Could I use the Mastermind's ability to return the Drifter to my hand before it's sacced? I think I can but I want to be sure. What about if Equilibrium is in play? Can I cast Drifter, then bounce it to my hand with Equilibrium?
In the Mastermind scenario, when Mulldrifter enters, two triggers will occur - one to draw 2 cards and the other to sacrifice the Mulldrifter. As long as you activate the Mastermind ability before the sacrifice trigger resolves, it will be safely in your hand (and therefore cannot be sacrificed).
In the Equilibrium scenario, Equilibrium triggers when you *cast* Mulldrifter, not when it enters the battlefield, so it will not be a legal target (due to still being on the stack).
