Okay i was playing my sliver deck and this came up. MY thorn Elemental had become a sliver thanks to conspiracy. I had Fury Sliver out and attacked with my thorn elemental. My question is. Would i be able to both do damage a creature and then deal damage to the player as though it was unblocked (so 7 to creature and then an addition 7 to the player)
Yes you can do that. You assign combat damage in the combat damage step. So for each combat damage step (both first strike and normal) you would choose whether or not the thorn elemenal assigns its damage as though it wasn't blocked. So for the first you could choose to have damage assigned normally and deal 7 damage to the creature blocking it, and then for the second combat damage step you could choose to have it assign its combat damage as though it wasn't blocked and deal 7 to the player or planeswalker it's attacking.
You would assign 7 damage in each combat damage step. But, since they are two separate steps, state-based actions would matter. If your creatures somehow takes enough damage in the first strike combat step, it would die before it could assign any more damage to your opponent.

Everyone knows that good luck and good game are such insincere terms that any man who does not connect his right hook with the offender's jaw on the very utterance of such a phrase is no man I would consider as such.

would i be able to attack both a player and planeswalker? or is that a completely different ruling?

No that you couldn't do, whether you attack a player or planeswalker is done during the declare attackers step (at the beginning of it). Each creature can only attack a single player (baring special cases like 2HG) or a single planeswalker. Having double strike only gives the creature 2 combat damage steps, it doesn't allow you to attack 2 different players and/or planeswalkers.
