Our playgroup still uses the 6th edition rules (damage stacks, there is mana burn, and there is no silly ordering of the blockers, and we use the Kamigawa legend rule).
I attack with two Falkenrath Aristocrats, he blocks one of them a still 4/4 Divinity of Pride. I want to prevent him from gaining life, so I stack damage and sac the Aristocrat. So this way he still gets 4 damage, and no life. Instead of 4 life and he'd be even.
But I think that even with the new rules, sacrifice is possible, just there is no damage stacked anymore.
Stack and sac is possible yes?

My playgroup: four people total.
We use the Legacy B&R list.
My meta consists of combo, control and some aggro / midrange decks.
My group uses proxies, so budget is not an issue. Because of this, things can get out of hand.
You can still sacrifice your creature during combat but your creature will not be dealing any damage.
With the current rules neither player gets priority between the time that damage gets assigned at the start of the relevant combat damage step and it is actually dealt.

that's why I mentioned that we play with damage on the stack. I am still sure that the Divinity of Pride would die, and because I sacrificed the Aristocrat, he would gain no life, because the Aristocrat is no longer there.
We don't care about the new rules.

If you sacrificed the Aristocrat with "damage on the stack" then your opponent will still gain life from the Lifelink, as the damage dealt by the Divinity of Pride is still considered dealt under the old "damage on the stack" rules.

Then why are you asking for a ruling on rules that you made up yourself?
