Lets say im attacking with a Phyrexian Crusader, and i cast Tainted strike before damage. Will infect stack for each instance of infect similar to lifelink? Or is the damage a replacement effect giving only one instance of infect.
Multiple instances of Infect will work exactly like multiple instances of Lifelink.
It will not do anything different than if the crusader had only a single instance of infect.
Relevant rules:
702.88. Infect
702.88a Infect is a static ability.
702.88b Damage dealt to a player by a source with infect doesn't cause that player to lose life. Rather, it causes the player to get that many poison counters. See rule 119.3.
702.88c Damage dealt to a creature by a source with infect isn't marked on that creature. Rather, it causes that many -1/-1 counters to be put on that creature. See rule 119.3.
702.88d If a permanent leaves the battlefield before an effect causes it to deal damage, its last known information is used to determine whether it had infect.
702.88e The infect rules function no matter what zone an object with infect deals damage from.
702.88f Multiple instances of infect on the same object are redundant.
Infect modifies the way damage is dealt, so additional instances of it are redundant. Currently, multiple instances of Lifelink are also redundant, so neither ability will stack (Lifelink used to be a triggered ability that stacked, but that was changed years ago).
